The Ruby Group

BUYER BEWARE: I, along with two other buyers in new construction homes located in Orange County, NY unfortunately dealt with the Ruby Group on numerous issues throughout the painful process of building a new house. They are notorious for not following up on their mistakes, and will sell you snake oil with the prices marked up ten fold. Lousy customer service and minimal knowledge in the actual nuances of putting a home together. They don't care about the quality of their work, as it is obvious they contract out to the lowest bidder, and will sell lots to anyone. Highly suggest staying away from them.

Review: We entered into a contract with The Ruby Group in January of 2011 to have two bathrooms constructed in our home. Work was begun in March of that year and completed in August 2011. We immediately noticed many problems and notified Ruby of the same. They refused to correct the problems. We contacted Westchester County [redacted] for assistance.They contacted Ruby and have attempted to bring this to a resolution.Ruby has continued to delay a resolution. Most recently they informed [redacted] that if we would get estimates from other contractors they would review them and pay us to have the work done. We supplied [redacted] with the estimates in March of 2013. Ruby said that on initial review the estimates looked good to them and they would move ahead and pay us according to the estimates we supplied.To date, although [redacted] has continuously tried to resolve this situation, nothing has changed. It appears that this is just another stalling tactic by Ruby similar to those they have used for almost two years. All we have ever requested is that Ruby honor their contract, correct their mistakes and give us the finished product we had contracted to have done.We have been unable to use the bathroom since the problems were noted.We were also informed that when we signed the contract, Ruby was not licensed to work in Westchester County. They misrepresented themselves.Desired Settlement: We want to be paid according to the estimates we provided to Westchester County Consumer Affairs and they reviewed with The Ruby Group. And if there are additional problems determined during reconstruction we would like to be reimbursed for those as well.We want to use our bathroom.
