I previously purchased several online courses from the SDC. For an unknown reason, I am unable to access my courses. I reached out on three separate occasions (left 1 voice message and sent e-mails on the site twice) requesting tech support. Never received the courtesy of a response.

Review: I signed up for the download version of the "[redacted]" - a video they sell. After I gave my credit card info, I was prompted with an offer to try the [redacted]. I had seen a total of 1 paragraph about it in the FAQ section of the web page, but it looked interesting enough. I then got my receipt with showed a shipping charge.

The following quote comes from the FAQ section of the [redacted] site: "You will have the opportunity to try this program for free after you place your order. " To me, free means free, not $8.24. There was no mention of being charged shipping. There was also no mention of automatically shipping new DVDs and charging me automatically. When I contacted your customer service group, they argued with me and sent screenshots of a different website's terms and conditions page, which was never presented before I received my receipt and saw the unexpected shipping charge. When I called in, I asked to speak to a manager. The response: "I am the manager". Eventually I was able to speak with somebody else, but they told me I had to get onto a forum to contact[redacted], the owner of the company.

When I did so, I got a negative & derogatory response from a forum moderator, the post was deleted, and my account was locked. It appears I have no practical means of resolving this issue directly with the company.

FYI: It appears that the customer service group is actually just the distribution company for the videos -- they don't have any authority to issue refunds or assist with most issues.

Review: My credit card was compromised online so I had to cancel it. The self defense company notified me and I contacted them via e-mail to work out alternative payment. They would not accept a check unless I paid in full, which I did. They still sent my account to collections.I want a full refund and I will return the product. I refuse to do business with people like this. I also want them to pay for ensuring my credit gets cleared.Desired Settlement: See Complaint Text

We apologize for the issue, but our system is not set up to collect checks. It is automated and accepting checks would increase our operations costs dramatically.

It is clear you wanted the product and were satisfied with it. So a refund is not possible. We will however remove you from collections.
