I have included a copy of the letter, which clearly requested that we get back to him with a resolution no later than October 1, 2015. excessive oil consumption 8 years from original in service day or 125,000 miles. All that being said, after looking into this situation, I got with our Service director who has reached out to Mr [redacted] in regards to this situation. Our service director went back to [redacted] and has since then been asked by [redacted] to do another Oil consumption test He came in and we went to perform the consumption test. Unfortunately the test showed that his car used less than ¼ quart in a 1000 miles. As it turns out, he said he may have topped the oil off within those 1000 miles. He has been asked to come back in 2000 miles, not to add any oil (unless the oil light should go on) so that we can perform the test again. Our service manager also went over the warranty extension from [redacted] and Mr [redacted] seemed ok with that. He was also concerned with the cost of adding oil should it be necessary in the 2000 miles and he was told that if it needs oil he is to just come in and that we would handle that expense for him. As you can see from the steps taken, we have contacted him and are attempting to resolve his concern should it be validated.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. I have added my comments and attached supporting documentation.
I have not yet received any resolution
from the dealership regarding this claim, as I do not accept "return in 2,000 miles" as resolution.  They have addressed the
oil consumption concern with yet another consumption test. This
requires me to monitor my driving and plan around when my vehicle
needs to be returned to the dealership again. Service records show
that on August 13th, 2015 Shearer [redacted] in fact did top
off the oil during the consumption test (see attached service
record). In addition to this concern, Shearer [redacted] stated in their
response that 1 quart of oil per 2,000 miles is within the acceptable
range. The attached service record clearly shows that I was informed
that 1 quart of oil per 1,000 miles is acceptable. This has been my
struggle with this dealership, as the information that I receive is
always changing and therefore it is very difficult to understand what
I need to watch for. Every time I visit the dealership I receive
different information which makes this process even more confusing
and worrisome. My understanding of a consumption test is that no oil
is to be added while the test is in progress. It is also my
understanding that certain parts are to be sealed to prevent any
addition or removal of oil. Standard guidelines for an oil
consumption test have not been followed, and have led to continual
visits to this dealership to address the same concern over and over
again to be told to once again “return in 1,000-2,000 miles”.
The fact that I need to monitor my vehicle to this degree is an issue
that I should not have to deal with at all.Shearer [redacted] has yet to address the
concern that their salesman, [redacted], sold me a vehicle under
false pretenses which was both addressed in the initial complaint as
well as in the letter written to the dealership. I was led to believe
that this was a dependable vehicle that would last me a long time and
that has not the case. Both Shearer and Corporate [redacted] fail to
recognize that there is an issue with this car and until it becomes a
major problem nothing will be done...but it is difficult to know when
it will be a major problem because I have been unable to find out exactly what these oil consumption specifications are.

Regards,
[redacted]
