To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this letter to anybody who would listen and help to get my message out to those who are renters in Central Phoenix.
In January of 2014, I moved into the “luxury” apartments in Central Phoenix called The Station on Central. Since day one, I have had nothing but problems.
On four different occasions my door was vandalized (with eggs, maple syrup, and some sort of juice that looks like blood…) and for three of those I called Phoenix Police Department. Three times the police came out and looked at it, gave me police report number including the policeman’s badge information. This made me really uncomfortable. Every time vandalism happened, I have advised my Property Management office, made them make copies of police reports and ask them nicely to look into it and put it in my file. Every time I was there, copies were made, but recently when I was there to talk to the Property Manager, none of them were in my file.
Then suddenly, I started getting complaints from the office about me making loud noises, arguing in my apartment and moving furniture pass 10pm. I decided to go and talk to the office and see how this harassment can be stopped.
While talking to [redacted], the employee ,the Property manager, [redacted] heard me and came out. I explained my concern to her about my issue; however, she was extremely unprofessional and made me feel like all the vandalisms were perhaps because I had and issue with somebody personally. Not to mention when I reported about ants in my apartment she said that “it is normal to have ants and that she has them at her house”.
None of the police claim numbers were taken seriously by my management office and [redacted] also stated to me “we are not here to make you safe”. Every time vandalism happened it took maintenance over 2 days to come and clean/repair. Two of vandalisms occurred within hours of noise complaints. However, third time when the Phoenix Police Department came out, they went downstairs and talked to the neighbor right below me who have made a complaint before per the Property Management office. After that, the following month, my door was not vandalized but instead around 3am in the morning while I am sound asleep pounding on my bedroom floor starts. It happened 4 times already. It wakes me up and I get so scared. Fourth time I called Phoenix Police Department as well as onsite security offices, as I feared for my safety.
Each month since I moved in vandalism has happened. I moved into the building on January 30 which was Thursday. Two days later Saturday, my door was already egged. By this time I didn’t even meet all my neighbors to create enemies.
On site security knocked on my door on three different occasions claiming that they received complaints about serious arguing, then loud noises, fighting, moving furniture, loud tv, you name it….however, security also said, that they would be standing at my door before knocking for about a minute and they have never heard anything coming from my apartment. At one time there was a claim that called in, stating that there were people vomiting over my balcony and a party going on, however I was not even there, I was in California. I also have receipts and witnesses to prove that.
I received a letter from the office, which they put on my door after office hours and it was stating that if there is another complaint made against me and they will have to proceed with legal actions. The letter was received the day after security was at my door complaining about noise. Again, I went to talk to [redacted], she closed me in the office with one of her employees. Her response was, not to worry about the letter and that they will not press legal charges and that letter was just courtesy letter that office had to send. In response I said, "employees made a copy each time I came in, to let them know. On one occasion, [redacted] wrote her a note to follow up with me and she never did. "So after four months, she tells me, this is her first time hearing about it. She also stated, there are 16 buildings on site and not everything gets to her desk. My response to that was, so a tenant complaining about the dog barking comes to your desk; however, tenant filing three different police reports is not good enough concerns for you to contact them or follow up? How is that possible? Her answer to me was: “I do not know”.
Today I have received an email eviction notice.
All of the above is just the tip of the iceberg. I have multiple police, security reports, witnesses, and photos of all the vandalism regarding all my claims. If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
