Upon receiving the book from Mr*** my staff found its condition significantly different than he stated on Amazon Instead of being in good condition the binding was cracked and pages were partially loose from the spine
We purchased the book for resale to students, so we cannot accept damaged books We contacted Mr*** to returned the book to him and asked for a refund as it was not in the condition he stated on Amazon His reply was that he would not take the book back We filed an A to Z claim with Amazon and they returned our money
We are sorry that Mr *** suffered any financial damage during the transaction The problem occurred not from any deception on our part but of his misstating the condition of the book he was trying to sell
I also found out my staff re-listed the book on Amazon with a proper notation about the condition It did sale, so we cannot return the text to him However, I will happily return to him the net amount he would have received from Amazon on the transaction That would be the selling price less 15% commission and an additional $transaction fee
I was not aware of this transaction or that my staff sold the text Mr*** refused to accept back The price we paid was $93.98, therefore we will return $(* 85%) -$That should approximate the amount he received from Amazon for the book less the shipping costs we paid
