The Student Loan Group Reviews (19)

I get calls from this group several times a day I've blocked my number every time and they continue to call I've asked where they got my personal information and no one will answer that call I am on a do not call registry and wish Revdex.com would stop this harassment!!!!!

Review: The student Loan Group presented themselves as a student loan forgiveness program. I was told by Ms. [redacted] that they would be able to reduce my loan payments from approx. $200 per month to $55 per month for ten years and the balance would be forgiven once I kept my payments current. She further stated that the first payment would be a slightly higher amount. The documents were emailed and Ms. [redacted] hurriedly explained them and encouraged me to sign electronically without sufficient time to read through the documents. I did not sign any papers nor did I fill them out and send them back to her. I really was busy and somehow forgot about them until I saw the first payment being taken out of my account. Since then I contacted Ms. [redacted] via phone and have left countless messages for her. I email her on 11/4/15 and 10/10/15 and told her I no longer was interested in being in the program. Since then I have learned from my lender that I was approved for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program but my payments has increased. My intent for joining this program was to decrease already difficult payments and this is what was marketed to me by Ms. [redacted]. What I have since found out is that the $55 is a management fee for services and not payment towards my student loans. Within the past weeks I have been unsuccessful in getting an answer via telephone or email from Ms. [redacted] or any of the associated companies. I finally got a response and was told that I cannot cancel my account because services were rendered in getting my PSL approved and still owe them the management fee for the year. I did NOT need them to get my application approved. I did the process on my own (prior to them) and knew I was eligible but I also knew I could not afford the payments and this is why I was looking for alternatives to pay my loans off. Also I did not sign and papers for them to do anything for me. I went as far as to put a block on my checking account so that they cannot take any more money out of my account without my permission. When they could not get the money out they changed to a different account not known by the bank and used it to take the money out of my account. So essentially they did not perform as agreed nor did I approve anything they did and their customer service is poor. I am now worse off than I started because of this program and their lack of transparency, plus out a whole $55 dollars extra. It has to stop one way or the other. Whether they stop or I will get Legal help for them taking money out of my account.

As a result, I would like my account canceled with no obligations for management fees for the next year. You can keep the two payments already made but I know longer want to be responsible for a program who is not operating as advertised or who is not providing a service that I need. My desired outcome is to have my account permanently canceled with no obligation for future payments.

I look forward to an amicable solution to this problem.Desired Settlement: As a result, I would like my account canceled with no obligations for management fees for the next year. Review: Hello,

I am requesting my account with the Student Loan Group and NS Processing be permanently closed. I would like a confirmation sent to me as soon as possible. I signed a contract on July 28, 2015 for services from this supposed student loan forgiveness program. I have made many attempts to find out the status of my account, as my student loans were left unattended with zero updates as to their status. However, a fee and payment was withdrawn from my checking with zero services made for said fee and payment.

I also requested to have my last payment on September 8, 2015 to be changed to September 17, 2015. I received an emailed confirmation stating that this would happen; yet it did not. I have received no responses to my inquiries to my account, until just recently when it was brought to my attention that I might not be able to cancel my account. According to the policy:

Client may cancel this contract by sending written notice (a) within three (3) days of this agreement, OR (b) before Loan Program begins. After Consolidation, renewal may be canceled if done 90 days prior to each anniversary date of this agreement.

Consolidation has not been made. I am the one who is currently paying for my loans, and receiving email message asking for more information in order to continue and finish the process. Therefore, please note, that this loan program has not begun and I am eligible for cancellation.

I am requesting for my account to be permanently closed, all information destroyed, and a full refund of $304.23 for services that were not rendered, and to be permanently taken off their call list immediately.Desired Settlement: To have my account with the Student Loan Group / NS Processing, Account Number [redacted] to be permanently closed, a full refund of $304.23, to have all my information destroyed, and to be permanently taken off their call list.

Review: Signed up for Student Loan Consolidation plan but cannot get a representative on the line to speak with since I signed up. Left message with representative [redacted] a week ago and have not gotten a return call yet. SLG offers a $50.00 credit if I get other people to sign up with them. How can that be? Was told my student loans would be taken out of collections, but no one from SLG contacted the collection agency. Not sure this agency is a scam and will not continue making payments to such an agency. If this agency is bogus, other unaware students should be aware of this tactic.

They call, no one is there and then hang up. I hang up call back, press 1 to be taken off of their list. I have also left a message and telling them to stop calling. They then call back from a different number and do the same damn thing! When I was finally able to get a real person after searching for a real number I was hung up on. I called back again and the guy I got was very rude!

Review: I initially spoke with National Secure Processing in February 2015. They come off as very knowledgable on the phone but once I signed up for the Public Service Loan Program through them, I couldn't get any answer on the paperwork process. From February through November, I paid a little over $1800 to NSP. My student loans were not being paid at all. I contacted [redacted] to confirm and they said they haven't received a payment from me at all. [redacted] stated that the Student Loan Group only changed my contact information to reflect the Student Loan Group's address, phone number, and email address. I paid $1800 for contact information change. They put the money paid in a "trust fund." I kept calling and I kept getting different answers to questions that I had. I finally talked to someone in December 2015 and she stated that the initial information that I received in February was inaccurate. I was extremely upset and I requested a refund and I only got $814 back. I'm out $1000. I called and their response was that there's a clause in the initial contract for full refunds only within 30 days. I was given false information. The program sounded good during the first phone call and that was the only reason I signed up. I feel that the phone representatives call teachers specifically and take advantage of them. [redacted] (the initial woman I spoke with) was very persistent that I refer the company to other teachers at my building so I will receive a $50 referral from the Student Loan Group. Thankfully I didn't refer anyone I knew.Desired Settlement: According to my contract with the Student Loan Group, my monthly student loan payment was $128.38. I made that payment for eight months result in $1,027.04 paid in towards my student loans. But the payment was never delivered to my carrier, [redacted]. I only received a refund of $814. I do not know where the remaining $213 from my student loan payments went. I paid over $1800 over the 8 months total. The Student Loan Group will not give me an explanation of why I wasn't refunded the full $1,027.04. They are rude and don't provide me with information regarding the outstanding amount I should receive.

Review: They keep calling my house. It's been going on for months; sometimes 3 times a day. It's an automated message asking to call if you want to consolidate student loans. When you call the number they provide, they hang up on you if you ask not to have them call you again. If you act interested, they ask you personal questions and try to get your personal info. Basically there is NO option to not receive their calls and they get to call you as early as 7 or 8 am on Sundays and weekdays.Desired Settlement: I wish to be removed from their calling list and I want to be compensated for violating the Do Not Call list. I am entitled to be paid for every time they have called me.

Review: they call you hang up within two rings and when you call them back nothing happens I feel like it might be a scam or one of them people trying to hack my phone.Desired Settlement: that either the business quits operating or when someone answers they respond they don't hang up when people answer the phone. And they need to be reported because when I try to locate them back its nothing no ring no busy signal nothing they're calling me twice back to back and every time its the same thing I'm tired of being aggravated by them just to hang up in my face!!

Review: I was called today by a representative from this company and I was convinced to sign up for a loan forgiveness that I was supposedly eligible for. I was naive enough to give all my information, and now that I've done my research, I've fond that it is a scam. It is Friday and they give 3 days for a cancellation. I'm afraid that when I get the chance to call on Monday, I won't get anywhere and be charged $109.00 on December 3rd, 2015 that I assume I will not get back.Desired Settlement: I would like my contract terminated with this company as soon as possible. Stop them from making changes on my Navient account for my student loans.

Review: When I signed up with this group I was under the impression that they would work with the Federal Education to consolidate my student loans. I specifically asked them if they talk with the Federal Education during the consolidation process and they said yes. What caused me to find out more details out this and the consolidation of the student loans is that when I signed up with the company they changed my

passwords and information for my FASFA and when I went into try and renew my FASFA form I was locked out of the system. They changed my email address and personal information they did not inform me that that were making these changes on my account. When I asked them how they got the information they stated they pulled it from the Federal Education website. By the time I learned all this information I already signed up with them and and they had my bank account information. They deducted three payments of $263.00 and I have not received anything. I never received an email to login to my account with them or nothing. When I spoke with the representative at the FASFA help desk he was very helpful and told me what these companies are doing. He said that none of my Federal loans could be consolidated because I am still going to school When I called to cancel this account they told me I could not cancel it because there is activity on it, when I asked how because I am still in school and they cannot consolidate my Federal loans they could not answer. I refused to pay them any more money and already cancelled my bank account information they told me if I do not pay it will go on my credit report. To top it off they never said that there was a fee. I do not understand how they companies do this to students the money they deduct each month is not even enough to cover the monthly payments for the student loans and that means the loans would be in default and the company is also taken money and not doing what they advertise.Desired Settlement: I would like my account cancelled and my money refunded for the last three months that I paid for $263 a month. No one from the business has ever called me to let me know what is going on with my account or any correspondences they were just deducting the monthly payment. I learned from the Federal Education I can consolidate my loans on my own when I am done with school in October. I changed all passwords and information so this company has no access to my Federal Education account.

Review: The student Loan Group presented themselves as a student loan forgiveness program. I was told by Ms. [redacted] that they would be able to reduce my loan payments from approx. $300 per month to $79 per month for ten years and the balance would be forgiven once I kept my payments current. She further stated that the first payment would be a slightly higher amount of $119. The documents were emailed and Ms. [redacted] hurriedly explained them and encouraged me to sign electronically without sufficient time to read through the documents. Since then I contacted Ms. [redacted] via email on 9/21/15 and told her I no longer was interested in being in the program. She encouraged me that I am misconstruing the program and I needed to give it a chance. Reluctantly I agreed. Since then I have learned from my lender that I was approved for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program but my payments increased to $485. Now my intent for joining this program was to decrease already difficult payments and this is what they marketed to me also. What I have since found out is that the $79 is a management fee for their services and not payment towards my student loans. Within the past week I have been unsuccessful in getting an answer via telephone or email but today I got a response and was told that I cannot cancel my account with them because they rendered the service of getting my PSLF approved and still owe them the management fee for the year. I did NOT need them to get my application approved. I did the process on my own (prior to them) and knew I was eligible but I also knew I could not afford the payments. Also they had a loan for my son included that was in deferment which caused a greater hardship. So essentially they did not perform as agreed and their customer service is poor. I am now worse off than I started because of them and their lack of transparency.Desired Settlement: I would like my account canceled with no obligations for management fees for the next year. They can keep the two payments they already took but I know longer want to be responsible for a program who is not operating as advertised or who is not providing a service that I need. My desired outcome is to have my account permanently canceled with no obligation for future payments.

Review: I signed up for services on the 29th of May, thinking that I was going to be lowering my payments for my student loans. After worrying that it may be too good to be true I looked the company up and found it was not all it was cracked up to be and my suspicions were correct. I reviewed my contract and saw I had 3 days to cancel but it did say how or where to send the cancel. I sent the initial email to the rep that set me up and the customer service email. The rep emailed me back advising I had to email a different address. So I sent in a cancel to themI heard nothing back but a reply asking for more info about my loan holders. I sent another cancel request stating that I sent in my cancel. On June 3rd the money was taken from My account any way. When I called about this I was told I would have to had canceled 3-5 days before the payment was processed that would have been before I ever talked to anyone from the company in the first place. Most of the reps were friendly but one lady said I should have canceled before they took the money and pretty much it was too bad and they money was gone. She then hung up. I feel that they took signed me up and took money on the same day knowing that if I wanted to cancel they could keep the initial payment. This company is a joke they just take the money and run.Desired Settlement: I just want my initial payment of $109. 00 and to make sure no more money is drawn from my account. I want to make sure after my money is returned they have o more of my personal info on file.

Review: I was contacted on July 6th by the Student Loan Group to consolidate my Federal Student Loans. The person I spoke to was very friendly, claimed that they were affiliated with the Federal Government and that they were calling people to help reduce their student loans through Obama's new forgiveness program. I went through the application process as everything checked out while I was on the phone. I even received an email from FSA with a .gov address, it all seemed legitimate. After reading through the contract, the company charges a (large) fee annually as well as monthly to consolidate your loan and they are in no way affiliated with the Federal Government. Additionally, they have you sign a Power of Attorney to act as you!! This is very bad business as they do not disclose any of this in the counseling session. I am working to cancel my contract and have notify the FSA of the issue. Buyer Beware!!!Desired Settlement: I would like my contract canceled immediately.

Review: I recently was informed that none of the payments I have been sending to The Student Loan Group have been applied toward my actual student loan. I have been paying the required payment each month, believing that a small amount was taken out for fees but that the majority of the payment was being applied toward my loan. I contacted The Student Loan Group and was informed that none of my payments were being applied toward the loan. Before signing on with them I researched the company and found a rating of A- from the Revdex.com and thought they were a legitimate business. Please assist me in ensuring they can no longer defraud me of my money, and in helping to get the word out that they, are in fact, a predatory business which makes an almost 100% profit off of people like me. I am sending them an email requesting that they close my account. I will be following up with a letter sent through US Postal Services. I am ccing your agency in both. Please let me know what, if any, further action I can take.Desired Settlement: Ultimately, I would like my account closed with The Student Loan Group, with no further payments being taken, beginning with the 1/03/2016 payment. I am requesting a refund of all payments I have made, since none of those payments went toward my student loan. I want my personal information purged from their records and an assurance that my personal information will not be shared with anyone else. I would also like warnings placed about the predatory practices of the Student Loan Group

Review: I WAS CONTACTED BY THE STUDENT LOAN GROUP AND WAS TOLD THAT 86.32 WAS BEING PUT TOWARD MY STUDENT LOAN. HOWEVER NAVIENT WHO HOLDS MY LOAN HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY PAYMENTS FROM THIS GROUP. I CONTACTED THE STUDENT LOAN GROUP AND WAS TOLD THAT 68.19 GOES TO THEM FOR SERVICING MY LOAN! ONLY 18.13 IS BEING APPLIED TO MY LOAN HOWEVER NOTHING ISB EING APPLIED TO MY LOAN BECAUSE NAVIENT HAS NOT GOTTEN ANY MONEY. MY ACCOUNT NUMBER WITH THE STUDENT LOAN GROUP IS 1017176. THEY SCAMMED ME OUT OF MY MONEY. THE LADY WHO SET UP THE PAYMENT NAMES WAS [redacted] AND I HAVE EMAILS CORRESPONDING WITH HER. I WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK AND TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT SINCE THEY HAVE NOT FULLFILLED THEIR END OF THE CONTRACT.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE MY "ELECTRONIC" CONTRACT CANCELLED AND MY MONEY REFUNDED SINCE IT WAS NOT GIVEN TO NAVIENT THE GOVERMENT HOLDING LOAN SOURCE. THE SUDENT LOAN GROUP FAILED TO EXPLAIN EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING, THEY SCAMMED ME.

Review: They told me that they would be using payments to consolidate my student loans and remove them from a default status. I've made 3 payments and nothing has occurred. No updates. No status. No payments have gone against my student loan debt. these guys are scammers.Desired Settlement: Please destroy my contract with this organization, discontinue all payments, and refund my money.

Review: Signed up with the SLGroup and then the next day went to cancel on 10/10/2015. [redacted] the representative I called at 949-[redacted] (direct Line) as he called it. Talked with his supervisor and said I wanted this cancelled and he said all I had to do was email [email protected] and state to cancel and that was all I needed to do. So on 10/21/2015 I get an email stating about drafting my bank account. I have attempted to call and I have re-emailed them and have gotten no response from them.Desired Settlement: When you talk to them and they say all you have to do is email that you want services cancelled then that is what should happen. I should not have to go through all this calling and emailing and still nothing is being done on their end at all.

Review: I was contacted about lowering my student loan payment to 69$ from a rep from SLG. After explaining that there would be a upfront 109 to get into program then recurring payments of $69. After program started I was told I could no cancel because program had started, and that the 69$ I would be paying would be for management fees for a minimum of 1 yr by National Secure Processing for my loan and not going toward my student loans. Yet they are not indeed doing anything with loans, and that payments I'm making are going to this company. This is a very misleading company, and are not doing services that I sign a contract with them to do .I refuse to pay them anymore moneyDesired Settlement: I want my services canceled and all ties and personal info destroyed from this company, and refund of my original 109$

Review: IN MARCH OF 2015 MY FRIEND CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME ABOUT A STUDENT LOAN PROGRAM HE SIGNED UP FOR. HE GAVE ME THE INFORMATION OF A GENTLEMEN NAMED [redacted]. I CALLED [redacted] AND WE DISCUSSED THE PROGRAM. [redacted] SAID HE WAS WORKING FOR THE STUDENT LOAN GROUP AND THEY ARE WORKING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO HELP LOAN FORGIVENESS. HE THEN LOOKED UP MY LOAN AND SAID I OWED $57,000.00 AND HE COULD GET MY LOAN DROPPED DOWN TO $16,000.00, AND ONLY PAY AROUND $66.00 A MONTH, WITH A ONE TIME INDIGNATION FEE OF $171.00. I DECIDED TO JOIN, HE THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THERE WILL BE A LARGE SUM TAKEN OFF MY STUDENT LOANS AND I COULD VIEW MY CREDIT REPORT IN A COUPLE MONTHS AND THAT DEDUCTION WOULD REFLECT IN MY CREDIT REPORT. [redacted] IMMEDIATELY WANTED TO GET THE CONTRACT SIGNED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I SIGNED THE PAPERS ON THE COMPUTER WITH HIM, HE EXPLAINED EACH BOX VERY QUICKLY AND RUSHED ME SO I DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE TO READ EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING WAS SO FAST HE NEVER WENT OVER THE ACTUAL CONTRACT, JUST A BRIEF EXPLANATION. HE TOOK MY BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION AND SET UP A AUTOMATIC PAYMENT STARTING IN APRIL. I RECENTLY CHECKED MY CREDIT REPORT AS OF 7-30-15 AND I STILL OWED THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY, THERE WAS NO LARGE SUM TAKEN OFF MY LOANS. I THEN CALLED NAVIENT WHO I OWE MY STUDENT LOANS TO AND ASKED THEM QUESTIONS ABOUT MY LOAN. THEY SAID I HAVE PAYMENTS DUE STILL. I ASKED IF ANYONE HAS CONTACTED THEM FROM THE STUDENT LOAN GROUP AND THEY SAID NO. I WAS SHOCKED BECAUSE I AM MAKING PAYMENTS TO THE STUDENT LOAN GROUP AND I NOW HAVE NO CLUE WHERE THAT MONEY IS GOING AND WHY I WAS MAKING THE PAYMENT IF THEY DIDN'T CONTACT NAVIENT. I HAVE EMAILED THE STUDENT LOAN PROGRAM, I HAVE REQUESTED ALL AUDIO CONVERSATIONS AND I REQUEST ALL MY MONEY BACK. THE STUDENT LOAN GROUP CHANGED ALL MY CONTACT INFORMATION INCLUDING MY ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER SO I WOULDN'T GET ANYMORE NAVIENT BILLS EVEN THOUGH I STILL HAD A MONTHLY BILL TO PAY. THIS COMPANY HAS LIED TO ME AND TOOK MY MONEYDesired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ALL MY MONEY BACK THAT I HAVE PAID AS WELL AS A BREACH OF CONTRACT WITH NO FURTHER CONNECTION TO THIS STUDENT LOAN GROUP.
