Furniture Barn has been servicing the state of Connecticut and beyond as a family owned...

and operated home furnishings retailer since 1966. Our track record is nothing short of exemplary, often going far above and beyond what any big box retail chain would call service. We have had an A+ Revdex.com rating for as long as that rating system has been in place. It is why we find Mr [redacted]'s complaint unusual, untruthful and defamatory. We would like to address the body of his complaint directly. First of all, the consumer purchased off-price merchandise from our warehouse clearance room. He wanted to purchase the least expensive sofa we offer and had missed out on our shipment of special opportunity sofas; and told our staff member he would wait for our next shipment. This product is made in China. We advise all of our consumers openly where product is made, as we are one of the few CT retailers that pride ourselves of the abundance of American Made goods throughout our 20,000 square foot showroom. We actually have signage on many of our American Made goods and are also members of the Sustainable Home Furnishings Council. We were hesitant to let this consumer reserve one sofa from our incoming shipment knowing it could be months. Mr. [redacted] wanted to wait. We advised Mr. [redacted] numerous times we would suggest cancelling the order and giving him a refund. Our General Manager was involved directly with this customer on a number of occasions. His statements that we refused a refunds are false, as he did receive a full refund. His claims of false advertising are ridiculous and defamatory. We are extremely happy that Mr. [redacted] has taken his business elsewhere, but offer warning to any retailer that has to deal with this type of consumer. If there were a Better Consumer Bureau that fellow retailers could utilize as a resource we would certainly file a complaint against Mr. [redacted]. I do not believe a 47 year old successful retail store would hassle a consumer over an $899 purchase. If anyone has any questions regarding this claim against our business please contact us directly.
