I am in receipt of a complaint that was filed on July 28, 2016 by [redacted]. I would like to present the following facts that lead to the current dispute between myself and [redacted]. For the record, this is the first complaint that has ever been filed against me during the 20 year...

tenure as a tax practitioner. Also, I have never met [redacted] face to face, and she came to me as a referral for the tax year 2015. I requested and did in fact receive a copy of [redacted] 2014 tax return. During the course of setting up the file on my software, I asked for the Date of Birth on all individuals that she had listed on the 2014 in order to qualify them as dependents on the 2015 tax return. On February 23 at 2:32pm, I received a text from [redacted] which merely stated that she is waiting for W2, and a request to have the taxes completed as soon as possible. On March 9, at 1:08pm I received a copy of the Mortgage statement from Dietech Financial. Information was being sent to me as she was able to obtain. To effectively avoid missing the tax cut off, I felt it was safe to file for an extension in order to avoid missing the April 15 deadline. Prior to sending the tax return, a telephone conversation existed whereby [redacted] and I went over the tax return. All questioned were answered to make sure she was aware of the tax liability associated with monies received for Alimony, etc. A copy of the tax return was mailed to the home address, and a signed authorization which was placed in the mailed package, was in fact signed, dated and mailed back to me for my records (see attached). It was later realized that the tax return was rejected due to an error in the Date of Births for one of the dependent children. In order to correct this issue, l had to ask [redacted] for the correct date. The tax return was resent back with the correct date of birth. The amounts reflected on the tax return changed that tax refund to a tax liability. A copy was once again sent to [redacted] with an explanation for the tax liability. At this point, [redacted] lost credibility in my service, and began to get verbally abusive and demand a refund of the fees collected. She accused me of not doing a good job, and was not happy about paying a liability which resulted in a penalty and interest (penalty $19.18 / interest $10.65), As far as the Consumer's Desired Resolution, I am willing to pay for the penalty and interest on condition that [redacted] will stop calling, texting me with harassing remarks.
I don't want her as a client.
