Review: Met with accountant [redacted] for a courtesy informational meeting to discuss his services. After leaving meeting I realized he had forgotten to return our original tax documents, and when I called to pick them up he explained he needed to keep them for filing purposes, despite not yet consenting to retain him for services. Soon after receiving his price quote--which exceeded planned budget--and declining his services, he refused to return our documents unless we paid him a $500 consultation fee. This consultation fee was never explained at the outset and he has failed to return our documents, to date.Desired Settlement: Would be nice to have our documents returned.
