The Ultimate, Inc. Reviews (2)

This message originally read on 3/2/2018To whom it may concern,I will briefly tell you of the conversation I had with Mrs*** on Wednesday Feb21st. I explained to her that we do not use what she refers to as a bait and switch system and I am sure that years in business and hundreds of
thousands of satisfied customers over those years, never accusing us of this, would confirm that. Plus we have the largest inventory in New England and are one of the largest stores in the country. We have all price points, styles, colors, sizes 000-and carry every prom designer. In short, there is no reason for us to do thatWe do have over 20,dresses in our store ranging from $to $with average price points between $and $On our website we have hundreds of thousands of dresses, as many other retailers do, but it is impossible for us or any other retailer to stock all of these dresses. We would need to have a store the size of Massachusetts to do so. However, all of these dresses are either in store or orderable, if still available. All of us put our images online in August through December and no one including the manufacturers has the time to remove images as they sell out. Everyone that calls the store and asks if we have all the dresses that are shown online is told, that we have 20,dresses in store, but it is impossible to have every dress shown online. Also, we do have many dresses in store that are not pictured online, as they are exclusive designs made for a few select stores throughout the country. There are price tags on all our dresses and I am sure there were many in the $179.99- $price range, but a customer often only looks at the tag on a dress she loves. That is when a sales associate can be helpfulAs I explained to her, Ray, her sales associate, has only been with us for a couple of months so she is not as familiar as most with the companies that have many dresses in that price range. Companies we carry like *** *** * *** *** *** *** *** *** * *** *** ** *** *** *** and some exclusives to name a few have a wide range of styles we order under $many of which retail between $and $249.99. We have been selling prom since December and have sold a few thousand dresses since then so of course, there are styles that are sold out with us and are also no longer available to order with the manufacturer as well, but I can go through our racks on any given day and find dresses in every price range in every size. Many dresses do not have hangar appeal so they made not have been taken off the rack by her daughter to try on. As for Ray moving the $dress, the only reason I can "guess" she may have done it is that after seeing her daughter try on dresses maybe Ray knew that dress would not have fit or was a style she was not liking. She would have no other reason to do it. The sales associates do not work on commission, nor are they compensated in any way for selling higher priced dresses or a quantity of dresses. We pride ourselves in our customer service which includes hanging, zipping, fixing the dresses. We find customers enjoy this service and it also keeps our dresses in the best condition possible. If Mrs*** had asked *** to walk away so they could talk in private, as customer sometimes do, she would have gladly walked away. And no one is made to feel they MUST purchase a dress or they can't leave. I would love to say that everyone who walks through our doors makes a purchase, but that is an impossible goal. I did tell Mrs*** that we do not have returns or refunds, but if she would like to schedule an appointment to come back with her daughter, I would preselect dresses in her price point and do an exchange. She said she would speak to her daughter and call me back. As I have not yet heard back, I assume they have decided to keep the dress. Thank you,*** ***The Ultimate Inc.Peabody, Ma
