THE UNIFIED JUNETEENTH COMMISSION OF LUBBOCK Reviews (1)

Just writing this up so that anyone looking to take their vehicle to this location, they can have a heads upand prepare for or avoid the situation
that I unfortunately went through Tuesday, sept 27 , 2016.

I needed to get an oil change and I had recieved a coupon in the mail for a bit of a discount on one, so I decided I would go to Lube city and put it to use. I went to the location at #500-9650 Harvest Hills Blvd NE.

Once I pulled in I gave the guy my information to be put into the computer and after he reccomended the most expensive synthetic package I said I only barely have enough money for the conventional oil change and showed him the coupon.

He then offered their free service of checking tires / vacuuming mats / cleaning windows, I said I only need my tires checked
because I had not checked them in awhile and knew they needed air.
The guy checked the air pressure and said 'since this tires at 10 psi I will put it to 32 where it's supposed to be' in a rude/obvious tone,
which is fine- didn't bother me that much - but doesn't seem like a customer friendly way to deal with something they asked you to look at.

After going through their list of offering me a bunch of different things such as an engine flush, he brought over the dip stick for
my power steering fluid and said that it had no liquid on it and that it was a very bad problem, he said he recommends
that I get a power steering flush to try to save me from more damage to my truck (gaskets / pipes in the front. Don't remember exact terms).
I asked for the price and he said $109 which of course I was very hesistant about, I thought for a moment and asked him if I could just have the power
steering fluid filled since I can not really afford it. He said that if I fill the power fluid within a block it would be gone and the damage to
different parts of my truck would continue and I would be faced with a $1500 bill to fix those parts if I didn't go with the flush today.
Since I can barely afford an oil change I obviously did not want something serious happening to my truck making me unable to drive
or have to pay for a $1500 fix so I obliged despite my lack of knowledge on the process / about power steering fluid. Of course it is
my fault for saying he can do the flush but I feel like scaring unknowledgable customers who say they don't have much money into
paying for expensive unneccessary services is quite dishonest.

I went outside and phoned a family member to let them know what I was having done and they told me that It was a waste of money and that it was
100% not neccessary and to ask to get the power fluid filled if needed and to not get the flush.
I quickly went back in the garage and asked the 'mechanic' if it was too late, since I feel like I am getting ripped off and feel uncomfortable and have had
no troubles driving my truck with it being 'empty'.

He did not answer my question and went on about the neccessities of it, in frustration I went back to the lobby (my fault , I should have told him I won't
pay for the unnecessary work right then and there) In the lobby he came to show me that the oil change was done and I asked him if things were almost done
because I was unhappy and feel ripped off (again). Someone else in the lobby heard this as well for what it's worth. He just said ok and walked away , a few minutes
later he put my purchase through and that was it.

I feel if a customer is very unhappy that you should make some sort of effort to remedy the situation, so after talking with a family
member we decided to phone and talk to the manager of this location just let them know how displeased we were with the customer service /
upsell that the employee made seem like it was required and urgent when it was not. In short, after two days of conversations the manager said that he does not trust my point of view and that he
trusts his employee, he said that they don't have any negative reviews and in 10 years have never had this problem. This does not seem very apologetic.
After not finding a solution he said he would send a coupon in the mail, I feel essentially so that the complaint would go away.

This is for anyone who might go to a location to make sure you do not take any advice from their salesmen who act as mechanics since they are not looking out for
your best interest.
