To Whom It May Concern: I am writing in response to complaint I [redacted] Upon completion of our investigation into the complaint it was determined that the request for FMLA paperwork was completed and returned to the patient within business days, which was under the standard turnaround time of business days Patient was contacted and we discussed her concerns as it related to timely turnaround and communication during this process It was determined that the timeliness of completion of the FMLA paper was well within policy and industry standards The communication with the patient was found to be appropriate in timing and context However, we did use this incident to provide some enhancements to our communication processes [redacted] Director of Physician Services

We have begun an internal investigation into the patient’s complaint and will be responding by the end of the week Please know we take these type of issues very serious and will conduct an intense review of the patient’sservice complaintBeing that I have only done this one other time, could you tell me how to respond to the complaint on your website? It is the policy of Union Hospital to provide emergency medical treatment to all patients presenting to the Emergency Department according to the guidelines set forth by [redacted] and the Patient Protection Affordable Care actAll patient data is secure and collected in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability ActAfter investigating the customer statement, the medical care provided has been deemed appropriate and the customer is financial responsible for the serviceIf the customer needs further assistance regarding the financial obligation, please contact [redacted]

The Union Hospital Association will provide necessary medical treatment to our patients regardless of any existing ability to pay for such services. The Hospital must, however, pursue payment through those avenues afforded to Union Hospital per policy and the collection of patient accounts
