The UPS Store #1157 Reviews (4)

A thorough damage inspection was processed on behalf of the customer and the details were forwarded to the shipper of record, The UPS Store # [redacted]. As stated in UPS Tariff/Terms and Conditions of Service:
“All inquiries regarding packages shipped via any Third-Party Retailer must be directed to the...

Third Party Retailer that shipped the package. UPS will deal solely with the Third-Party Retailer in all matters concerning packages shipped via any Third-Party Retailer including, but not limited to: tracking/tracing requests; claims and guarantees; C.O.D. preparation and remittance; return of undeliverable packages; proper packaging and labeling; and billing. Even if UPS responds directly to customers of the Third-Party Retailer regarding tracking requests, UPS will not be liable to those customers. The Third-Party Retailer is solely responsible for the issuance of any refunds and claims to those who shipped packages via the Third-Party Retailer.”

The UPS Store locations are independently owned and operated franchises that are not a component of UPS's delivery network and are not employed by UPS.  Mr. [redacted] will need to contact The UPS Store directly for a resolution.

If a resolution is not given through The UPS Store location that shipped the package, the customer may contact The UPS Store’s Corporate Office located at [redacted], telephone number ###-###-####. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

I am rejecting this response because:The original complaint pointed out that UPS asked for the shipping to be done TWICE. The box is in poor condition from its original pristine condition. Note that in the evidence, the box is beat up, marked black (god knows what rubbed off on it and clearly not even cared for like a regular package - would UPS like it if I took care of your account books like you guys take care of our packages?). There are rips and the driver despite knowing it was a computer DROPPED the package onto the ground without taking any care or precautions in front of my sister and was still pretty rude. The package was 'packed as a standard computer is packaged'. There is Styrofoam packaging on all 6 sides in the box, the computer is shrink wrapped as well to ensure that the computer itself wouldn't be jiggling around. From what I have shown in my screens, there is significant impacts/shocks that must have happened along the way as there are numerous scratches all around the inside. The outside casing is pristine and complete as expected. However, the heat sink anchors were CLEARLY RIPPED OFF on the inside. The anchors hold the heat sink in place and there is thermal glue as well. It seems that the evidence I provided to UPS in my email on September 8th at ~10:08 AM EST to [redacted] at [redacted] and my emails to Jeff were clearly not even looked at judging by the business' response. To date, you have provided NOTHING aside from three reassurances that the matter will be looked into, 2 conflicting statements from your customer support agent and hours of time that has been wasted. What's more is that your UPS department seems to have emailed me regarding another person's issue, [redacted] with transaction ID: Re: ups trK# [redacted]. I am NOT [redacted], nor have I referred to myself. In any case, if the insurance is only for up to $100, then please provide that to the shipped address @ [redacted] and I will consider the matter closed.

The customer packed a computer himself to be shipped from california to ontario, canada. The customer stated it was packaged well and did not want us to repack it. The customer also did not want any extra declared value for the item being shipped so it was only covered for up to $100 in value. The customer paid $78.10 to ship the customer packaged box. We shipped it for him. He stated when it arrived it was damaged. UPS refused the claim stating that the computer was insufficiently protected. We tried to fight the claim for the customer but UPS refused. At that point are hands are tied and there is nothing we can do.

Review: UPS Shipped my computer and my computer's heat sink broke in the middle due to shocks and the all the hardware inside has been compromised.

UPS shipped my computer to my home address. The computer has been completely damaged and the hardware compromised.

My friend shipped my PC to my address in Canada and we were charged $230 for shipping the thing. Then when I was notified that it was ready, I was charged an additional $314.88 including a brokerage fee of $96.05. I paid this amount via cheque and when I touched the box, I noticed that it was not packaged the way I packed it before. The heat sink that comes attached to the core i7 Processor I had (340$ USD) was broken somewhere along the shipping process. The heat sink also is anchored to the processor as well. During the process, the heat sink that was held together by the thermal paste and the anchors broke off (note, this MUST have been a shock through the process as one of the anchors got ripped off) and the metal on the heat sink is bent all over. Furthermore, this has happened for a while as there are scratch marks left from the heat sink bouncing around. The PC is internally damaged and scratched, hardware is compromised and a fire hazard due to the internal damage.Desired Settlement: Full replacement of the value of the computer ~1647.30 as all parts are brand new
