The manager of his store Richards *** (or Richie *** as indicated on his business cards) is incredibly rude and unprofessionalI asked him to print files for me that I needed for my job interview todayOne of the files is my resume and two others are presentationsI don’t have a color printer at home and 11”x17” size of paperThis location of UPS store is the closest to my home and I used their services before (usually when Richie was not there)At the very first minute after I walked in to the store, Richie said to me: “Well, I don’t have much time, we are going to be very busy soon” In a hurry, he grabbed my flash card and stuck it to the printerHe asked me which file I wanted to printI pointed to the right oneThat file was my resumeHe printed copiesThen, I asked him to print my two other files – my presentationsHe said: “Do it yourself, I don’t really know how to use this printer”I was shocked to hear thatI pressed the print button but the document did not print right: instead of landscape orientation, it came out as portrait and some of the text was cut off; it was not acceptableI told Rcihie that the orientation of the paper needed to change to landscape and I asked him how to do thatHe gave me the same answer: “Do it yourselfI don’t know”I said: “How come? I believe you used to have a different computer and I remember your clerks used to edit all the settings on that computer in the back room” and I pointed it to that computerHe said: “That computer does not work anymoreI can’t help you.” I said: “How about 11”x17” paper, I see on tray # it says: 11x17? “ He said: “No, we don’t have that size anymore”I was shockedI reminded him that I was his customer and as a manager he should treat his customers with respectI said: “I would never come to your store again”He said: “It is fineWe are not a print shopWe are UPS store.” I asked him how much I owe him for the resumesHe said: “Nothing”I said: “I would like to know your name and please give me your business card”He did not tell me his name but said that the business cards are behind me, on the stand and he added that I was getting the resumes for freeI said: “I don’t want to owe you anythingI will pay for them”And I did$for copiesAfter I left the store, I felt so horribleI felt like someone just poured a bucket of dirty water on meHow dare you treat me like that, Richie? All I did is I asked for the service which I was ready to pay forIf UPS stores don’t want to provide any printing services to their customers, then why do they keep color printers at their stores? I can’t believe that people like Richard Bcan be managers or even business owners??? They lack qualities that any manager and business owner must possess: communication skills, professionalism and willingness to work hard to achieve a satisfied customerShame on you, Richie or Richard! I wish that someday someone would treat you the same way as you’ve treated me today
