This business response was received by Revdex.com via email.[redacted] I apologize for the confusion surrounding the cost to ship your package to California on October 3rd.  UPS shipping rates are based on zip code, weight and dimensions.  The dimensions on your package were 20 x 17 x...

14.  This calculates out to a dimensional weight of 29lbs.  Since this is higher than the actual weight of 14lbs, the dimensional weight is used to calculate the cost of shipping. UPSs website for quoting starts with a simple quote.  Only asking for zip code and weight.  This is where you received the lower price.  At the top of the quoting screen, it indicates that a more accurate quote can be received.  At that point, the package dimensions are put in and a more accurate quote is shown.  I’ve attached 2 printouts for your review.  The first shows the initial quote without dimensions being entered.  The second shows the quote with the dimensions entered.  Also, here is a link to more information from UPSs website about dimensional weight.[redacted]
