I am rejecting this response because:Additional coverage was not declinedI was of the understanding that the $included this coverage

The parts in question were properly packaged by The UPS Store but the items were damaged in transit by UPS Freight. The damage coverage under the UPS Freight conditions of carriage is $
unless the contracting party elects to pay for additional value coverage. The parties were offered aditional value coverage but declined
We are sorry for the loss incurred my Mr***, but we executed our handling of the shipment correctly and in fact refunded his packaging costs as an act of goodwill

We have two employees that will swear under oath that additional coverage was declined while the shipper was on the phone with the consignee in this location

I am rejecting this response because: I find this unacceptable because when I pay somebody to do a service and the product was not received! an I called the phone number they gave me there is no person to talk to it's a recording and it specifically States when I put it in the account number is says to contact the sender being the UPS Store for the results, that obviously indicates that something was not done properly on their end because it was never sent to me in the mail and the proper thing to do is for them to find out where my product is at or give me a refundBecause when you pay for a service or product and no product was received then what am I paying for that is their responsibility to make sure it is done properly

Mr. [redacted] was fingerprinted at our location on 10/17/17.  We transmitted his fingerprints as requested to the DOJ for his self check of his background.  We have explained to Mr. [redacted] on multiple occasions that we do a bio-metric transmission only we do not receive the results of the...

background check.  I have attached the information available to him on the CA DOJ site.  If he didn't have a disignee listed on his form he must submit a written request for the background check information.  On the attachment there is also a phone number to contact at the DOJ for additional questions.  We have verified to the customer that our part was completed and that his fingerprints were successfully transmitted to the DOJ and that we do not receive results under any circumstances.

Again, we are so sorry that your shipment was damaged in transit.
It seems as though information concerning cost for shipping was also being conveyed through the seller of the parts to the consignee and the lesser cost was chosen.  In order for freight costs to be refunded by UPS Freight, the amount of the shipping charges would have to have been added to the value added coverage.  The UPS Store had to pay UPS Freight for the shipment and UPS Freight will not reimburse for the freight because it was not declared in a value added amount.  The value of the shipment is always requested so that it can be determined if the value exceeds the conditions of carriage and if the customer elects to pay for additional coverage.  We have paid what we have been reimbursed by UPS Frieght plus your packaging.  I have filed a complaint with UPS Freight for the handling of the shipment and should I get any additional consideration, I will contact the consignee.

I am rejecting this response because:Additional coverage was not declined. I was of the understanding that the $609.00 included this coverage.

We don't have a matching record for this recipient or consignee address.

I am rejecting this response because: I find it hard to believe there are two employees privy to a phone conversation which took place between [redacted] and [redacted]. On 2-14-14 parts were brought into your store for a shipping quote to cincinnati. [redacted] ,the woman with the parts, called [redacted] to say she was at the ups store and gave the phone to [redacted] .  [redacted] asked for the address for the the parts to be shipped, she then asked for the value of the parts. [redacted] quoted the shipping at $609.00 which [redacted] accepted. She then asked how he would pay and he gave his credit card number. [redacted] then gave the phone back to [redacted]. Since [redacted] asked for the value of the parts it was assumed we were covered. She did not explain the policy at any time nor did she advise we were not covered.
On 2-27-14 the parts were delivered . We notified [redacted] by phone. She stated she would have to check and see if we were covered for the parts but we would at least get our shipping of $609.00 refunded. So far you seem to not want to take any responsibility other than $57.25, It seems your policy is the customer is always wrong.

Review: I purchased some aircraft parts in california, and contracted the ups store to package and ship the parts to ohio. Upon arrival at my location the parts were destroyed during shipping. I purchased the parts for $1200.00 and paid $609.00 to have them shipped. After two months and several unfulfilled promisses I recieved compensation of $150.00 . So I paid the ups store to destroy my aircraft parts.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the $1809.00. I choose this because replacement of the parts would exceeed this by thousands of dollars.
