The UPS Store #4937

I don't have any paperwork,  all my insurance claims was done over the telephone. This was shipped back in September 2014..... They have been giving me the run around ever since.  Ups blames store store blamed ups.  The flat screen tv was laid on its side with boxes MANY boxes stacked on top

While we agree that the damage to Mr' [redacted]'s TV is very unfortunate. He was informed upon entering our The UPS Store location that should anything happen to his items in transit, UPS could deny the claim due to insufficient packaging. also given a quote to have us professionally repack the TV.  As he did not want to incur any additional costs, he refused to have it repacked. Upon reporting the damage, UPS inspected the package and found the TV to be wrapped in a bath towel and placed in a box filled with Styrofoam peanuts. The outer box was comprised of 2 single wall recycled boxes taken apart and wrapped around the TV.  There was nothing in the box to support the TV or to keep it from shifting while in transit. The missing box was reported as delivered by UPS and did not require a signature upon delivery.  Therefore it is unable to be traced any further than the delivery location.  Mr. [redacted] did come in to a The UPS Store location to ship his items, but once they leave our store location, they are in the hands of UPS and we are no longer liable. We only act as an intermediary between Mr. [redacted] and UPS at that point.  Mr. [redacted] was informed of this and given a contact number for UPS to voice his concerns. We hold ourselves to the highest standards at this location to educate our customers and help them make informed decisions regarding their shipping options.
