I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Mr*** *** is not offering accurate information about what occurred in the store Either he was looking at the wrong time at the wrong person on the camera or there is some other problem with what the camera is able to show or with his account of what he saw in the video I was not on that computer for minutes I was on it for no more than a couple minutes and tried to print only page I used the copy machine after the printing did not work out The employee did more than just log into the computer But what the employee did or did not do does not change the fact that it was the store's computer that destroyed my valuable files It is poor business practice to cause damage to a customer and then refuse responsibility
Regards,

Review: I entered this UPS Store on Monday March 16, 2015 around 1pm. Around 1:15pm a store employee inserted my USB drive into their store computer because I expressed interest in printing a page from my USB drive. The UPS computer destroyed hundreds of very important files from my USB drive. I don't know if the store employee intentionally sabotaged my USB drive or accidentally mishandled it or whether there was something about the UPS computer functionality or whether there was malware, virus, or adware on their computer, or whether those things could have come from store workers or another customer who had used the computer. Whatever the particular cause, it was the UPS computer that destroyed my USB files and the UPS Store had a duty to protect me as a customer using their service from suffering damage as a result of using their service. They failedThe Microsoft technician I chatted with for 2 hours said that malware from the UPS store computer destroyed my USB files. I missed two days of my regular job these past two days trying to retrieve my files trying numerous file recovery software programs but none of them worked. Missing files included important legal and financial documents and countless hours of work over several months on a product I have been preparing to market. Hundreds of images were lost along with word documents. Much of the work I had on the USB drive entailed expenses to get that work done. Most of the value lost is on my own time and work over months on my product. The actual cost of my lost work is in the thousands of dollars. The cost of time off work trying to fix this problem is in the hundreds of dollars. And the expenses I have paid in association with getting the lost work done and in redoing it and getting a usb drive replacement, etc.. is about a hundred dollars. I am interested in settling this incident for an amount lower than what I actually lost. I would be willing to do that so I can get started redoing my work.Desired Settlement: I would settle this for $250
