A package was sent to an incorrect address requiring a signature. The package was delivered, saying that "[redacted]" signed for it. No signature was givenI ordered a tablet from [redacted]. They had my old address on file, and sent it there [redacted] MA XXXXX). I contacted [redacted], and asked them to change it, they could not, it had already been processed. I could not talk to UPS about it, because they had not yet received it (no tracking information). So I figured I would have it re-routed for whatever cost UPS wanted for that, once they had failed to deliver it. Unfortunately, the package was delivered one day after I was given tracking information (Tracking #: 1ZWXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX). The package was supposedly signed for by "[redacted]". Not I, nor anyone by my name resides at the old address (it has been more than a year since I moved), no one by my name signed for any package. When I contacted UPS to tell them they had made a mistake, that they did not deliver the package to me, or possibly just got no signature, they instructed me to call [redacted] and have them arrange to have the package picked up and re-delivered to the new address. I (sternly) told them that this was not [redacted]s responsibility, as UPS had delivered the package to the wrong person, or simply had gotten no such signature. I insisted that delivering the package without assuring who it was being delivered to was their error. The representative continued to tell me that I had to have [redacted] contact them and arrange a pick up, so I requested to speak with a supervisor since he insisted he could do no more. He told me they would say the same thing, asked me to wait on hold while he got someone, and hung up on me after 20 minutes. His name was [redacted] by the way. This is why I am filing the complaint, they have offered me no help retrieving the package. If there is an expensive associated with redirecting the package, I will pay that, but UPS should not have delivered the package to someone else, or no one at all. Yes, it is my mistake for letting [redacted] ship it to the wrong address in the first place, but it should have been stopped when they saw that my name was not on the mailbox, and I was not there to sign for anything.Desired SettlementI would simply like them to pick the package up, and redirect it to my new address. However, if the package has now gone missing (my biggest concern), I think they should be responsible for replacing it. It should not have been delivered there without having any proof that I resided there any longer or having had me sign for it. I am currently trying to get into contact with the people living there now through my old landlord, but it is section 8 housing and the people there cannot afford a phone. If I can get into contact with them, I will have them hold onto it until UPS agrees to go pick it up and re-route it to my new address. I also think UPS should try to be more accommodating to their customers; I am sure I am not the first person to accidentally ship something to an old address.
