The Vein Specialist of Houston Reviews (3)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me with the following clarifications: Before taking any action with the Revdex.com and the insurance company regarding the incorrect charge by the doctor, I did speak with his Admin Manager ( [redacted] ) twice during a period of months and left voice messages to resolve this issue with out involving third partiesShe never did respond to my or voice messages spelled out in her private voice mailbox and when I called her to press for a response, her promise in both instances was that she will look into the matter and get back with me, which she never did Although an ultrasound was performed at the request of the doctor, he was paid for the procedure and was also paid for the visit to review the results of the procedureIt was clear in my complaint to the Revdex.com that neither of these two issues was the issue of contentionSo, the long winded explanation by the doctor, failed miserably to address the real issue which was the charge for $for the first "free screening office visit" he advertises to the public If this doctor were honest, he will not charge the insurance company nor the patient for what he advertises as being "free screening" first office visits His Office Manager told me over the phone that the free screening office visits are converted to billable office visit as soon as the doctor orders other test during the screening visitThis is advertisement since the doctor knows that for a proper diagnosis additional tests will likely be required It is clear and obvious that this crooked doctor and his brother are taking a juicy monetary advantage of their services by using the free screening advertisement as a hook to bring patients to their officesThe two brothers are [redacted] and [redacted]

To whom it may concern, Please note that the complaint that we receive from every patient and Revdex.com service we do reach out to the patient in trying to resolve the dispute and address the concern with the patient. In this particular matter, we reviewed the patients information and the following...

summarization:Patient was seen on 6/09/2014 for screeing evaluation of his veins.   In discussion with the patient during the first visit - it was clearly stated to the patient that his concerns for the vein disease was a medical concern and not a cosmetic concern and if he wanted to obtain more diagnosis and treatment of the disease, he would require further evaluation and followup duplex ultrasound for treatment.   Option were given at the initial visit for patient to continue further medical evaluation and treatment versus not pursuing any further evaluation.   Patient chose to continue further evaluation and treatment.  The forms he signed stated that he wanted to pursue medical treatment of his vein disease.  Patient filled out our required forms including the form stating that he has finincial responsibilty for his part of the visit (copay) that is required by the insurance company if medical treatment is to be rendered.  Patient did agree and sign the form stating that if further treatment and testing was required that we would have to continue the medical necessary care and he would be responsible for his portion of the copay. .  Patient subsequently had an ultrasound evaluation and a subsequent followup visit in the office. We do have a billing company that we use for all of our billing information and insurance submissions.  Unfortunatley, I was never contacted by the patient so that his concerns could be addressed and resolved.  I have asked the billing company to contact that patient and to refund the patient's balance.   Thank you[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me with the following
clarifications:
1. Before
taking any action with the Revdex.com and the insurance company regarding the
incorrect charge by the doctor, I did speak with his Admin Manager ([redacted]) twice
during a period of 3 months and left voice messages to resolve this issue with
out involving third parties. She never did respond to my 3 or 4 voice messages spelled out in her private voice mailbox and when I called her to press for a response, her promise in both instances was that she will look
into the matter and get back with me, which she never did.
2.
Although an ultrasound was performed at the request of the doctor, he was paid
for the procedure and was also paid for the visit to review the results of the
procedure. It was clear in my complaint to the Revdex.com that neither of these
two issues was the issue of contention. So, the long winded explanation by
the doctor, failed miserably  to address
the real issue which was the charge for $178.00 for the first
"free screening office visit" he advertises to the public.
3. If this
doctor were honest, he will not charge the insurance company nor the patient
for what he advertises as being "free screening" first office visits.
His Office Manager told me over the phone that the free screening office visits
are converted to billable office visit as soon as the doctor orders other
test during the screening visit. This is false advertisement since the doctor knows that for a proper
diagnosis additional tests will likely be required.  It is clear and
obvious that this crooked doctor and his brother are taking a juicy monetary
advantage of their services by using the free screening advertisement as a hook
to bring patients to their offices. The two brothers are [redacted] and [redacted]
[redacted].
