When looking into the View Apartments online, it clearing indicates one location and address. When you go into the webside adddress, it list the wonderful ameneties for their gated community and pictures of all its wonders. We called to get pricing for this loveley community on a month to month basis, which is nice about them, and set up a tour. It looked very appealing and would hold us over until our house was built. On the day of move in, we signed a few things and were given our keys. I asked which way to the apartment, and they pulled out a map and sent us down the street to a different location! Not gated, very jenky gym, unlike the one we saw, no access to the clubhouse down there because they have no one working it and other people ruined it for me I guess and no free wifi like we were disclosed about the location they advertised. Did our walk through alone, only had one problem with the freezer, let them know right away and gave authorization for them to go in and fix it. It has never been fixed or mentioned again to us. My issue is they have always known since we put down a deposit, what unit we would be in, but never ever disclosed that it was at a different location, not offering these amenties. Lastly, they tell us the rent is the same at either location.Product_Or_Service: apartment rentalDesired SettlementJust don't feel it was right to sell us on one place at a very steep price and put us somewhere different. He was very thorough in trying to find out where the staff missed out on clarification during out visits before and during move in. He really listened and responded to me with sincere empathy and this alone has made me feel much better about the situation. He has assured me that he will sit with his staff and make sure that everyone is being informed of what could be done to prevent future residents from possible experiencing the same challenge as myself. They have a made a gesture of good faith that will really help during my move out later this month, and I really appreciate it. My move out is purely because our new house is finally closing. I feel that they have absolutely shown true concern and care in this matter and would like to remove any formal complaint if possible. In an effort to mend this misunderstanding, we made considerations to ensure her move-out would be as stress free as possible. We also gave her concerns a voice in the form of policy changes in the office. We are always willing to accommodate our residents in any way possible to ensure a positive experience at The View. Thank you for your help."The View is a split parcel community located at [redacted] Dr and [redacted] Dr. The apartments are all exactly the same, built at the same time. The lower site does not have a clubhouse, controlled access, or a spa. The rent is generally lower for that reason. Residents living at the lower site still have full access to all the features of the upper site. Also, we are in the process of making huge improvements to the lower site gym. [redacted] Company purchased The View in September of 2012 and we are working intensely to make it your best choice when looking for a new home in the Reno/Sparks area!

I went to The View Apartments to try and get an apartment. I put a down payment to hold the apartment for three days and decided to not take it and to get the condo downtown I am in now. They told me the money would be refunded to me in less than 30 days. I used my Debit card to pay for it and they told me it would be refunded back to my account. I am 33 days into this and I have yet to be refunded. I have contacted them multiple times and keep getting the run around about this. The first lady I talked to told me it would be coming soon and by the 30 day mark. The second lady I talked to was at day 28 and she told it wasn't done yet but it should be deposited any day now. well I just called again and talked to a lady and she told me that it shows a check being sent to me on march 9th. I asked for a copy of the paperwork to show the check being sent to me on March 9th and she refused to give me a copy of it. I asked her why the first two ladies told me that it wasn't done yet and that it was being deposited to my account not a check and she told me she didn't know and she hung up. I called back and she got mad and said she is reading what the computer said. I asked to have the paper sent again and she said she cant send it. I said I will come pick it up and she said she cant give it to me or show me. I have got the run around for over a month and they're refusing to pay me back what they owe me. Each one I talk to gives me a different story and tells me a different delivery method and date. I just want my money back and I seriously would never ever send anyone there because the service is bad and the women that work there are horrible and not well informed. They are now telling me that it will take another 30 daysDesired SettlementI would love to have my money back please. They owe me money and I want it back. They keep giving me the run around and its not right. I was supposed to have it refunded to me before two weeks and it wasn't then 30 days and it hasn't been. Now they are telling me another 30 days. NO WAY. please help me.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] / Property ManagerContact Phone: 775-323-2787Contact Email: [email protected] to this complaint I want to first point out that I believe the applicant is misinformed on a couple of line items and if that has anything to do with any sort of miscommunication within our office I truly do apologize.To begin, this applicant might have chosen to move to a condo downtown, but what is misleading is the reason why they chose to do that. When they applied they were actually denied due to the fact that their background check came back with a felony charge on it. After this was realized by our staff we called the applicant back to let them know that unfortunately they were denied.We let them know that their refund would be returned within 30 days. When the Final Account Statement was processed, we called the applicant back to get the most up to date forwarding address. We attempted to make contact on more than one occasion and unfortunately we could not leave a voicemail on the phone number provided.After the failed attempts we simply chose to forward the check to his work address he provided on his application. Unfortunately his work office claimed they never received the check so we let the applicant know we would have it sent to the property for him to pick it up as that is what they requested.Dates for reference are the denial date which was 02/27/16. The Final Account Statement was prepared on 03/09/16 and sent to Corporate for the check to be sent out to the work address. Check was mailed out on 03/16/16 leaving plenty of time for it to get to forwarding address within the 30 day timeframe.When it was not received we did a stop payment on the check and did as requested by the applicant to have the new check sent to the property for pick up. Who cares if its because I decided or was not allowed. That isn't the debate here. The debate is my money owed to me. Are you trying to say that because I have a felony I don't get my money? Are you saying because I have a felony I shouldn't receive my money back? The fact that I am misinformed is due to the fact that your office is disorganized and clueless. I was told this information by three different workers. So the fact you admit I was misinformed shows exactly how bad your office is ran and how well your people trained. I had two ladies tell me the week of March 25th that it wasn't sent yet and it will be deposited by the 30 day mark. However when I called three days later I was told it was sent to me March 9th and to the address. So I was given three different stories by your workers and that's no ones fault my friend but yours and not training them correctly. I also asked the girl to send me confirmation saying that the payment was sent March 9th and she never did and didn't prove it to me. I have a letter from [redacted] and [redacted] saying that my personal phone has had voicemail set up for over a year and [redacted] has sent me one verifying that my Work phone has had voicemail set up for over 5 months. So the fact that you say you called me and cant leave a voicemail is 1000000% incorrect and wrong. Just to prove how wrong you are I saved a voicemail from The View Apartments the day I got the call saying they needed to talk to me about application. IT was left and I called them back. I Still have that voicemail and will be happy to let you hear it and let my lawyer hear it to show that you're 100% lying about the fact you couldn't leave a message. Pretty funny you could leave a message then but not for my money being returned to me. I have written statements from the office at 4910 Longley Ln where they say they have always given me my mail and always given it to me the same day. The fact remains that there was no check sent. I have even asked the post office if a return mail was sent back from here in my name an nothing was sent back. No one contacted me Sir and that's the truth. I have waited and waited for this. I make plenty of money and the money isn't the issue. Its the fact you're lying and making a story up that is the issue. I guarantee I am not the only person this has happened to. I just guarantee I am the only person who remembers and didn't let it go. I will be more than happy to bring you the statements I mentioned above to show that I am being honest and you're lying. Not a single person contacted me. In fact whats funny is your worker Brittany or Jamie left me a message Monday saying please call us back we have an update on your money. SO IT SEEMS MESSAGES CAN BE LEFT WHEN YOU WANT BUT NOT WHEN IT MATTERS. My voicemail has always worked and still does. So lets recap.... I have a voicemail from 02/26/16, 02/27/16 and 03/28/16. So they can leave messages then but not when it pertains to my money and giving it back to me. You really should take a self inventory sir and realize that the office you run isn't being ran right and fix it. The fact you admit to the part of me being misinformed shows a lot. I was misinformed by people who work for YOU. They were trained and employed by YOU. I just called your office again at 1230pm on 03/31/16 almost 40 days into this and I have still yet to get my money. I contacted your corporate office also and when I pick my check up I will be more than happy to show you the response I got. You said my check will be here today so I am waiting and we will see.Final Business Response There is no winning with you. This is obvious and I hope everyone reading these responses can tell. You were never lied to and you assume most everything. And we all know what happens when people assume don't we? Yes the regional manager came into town and he just so happened to accidentally forget the check back at corporate so you took that as a lie. You didn't need to know that though, so I took a $100 bill out of my own pocket and said it was ready for pick up. I hope that makes sense. And I am so glad you decided to waste my time and yours with this back and forth. Unfortunately there is not a Revdex.com for people and how they treat others and respect levels. It makes me sad that I am having to go thru this. To be honest I hope all this fighting was worth it for you because it surely wasn't for me. However soon as I say Revdex.com wanted to know if I got it I get a call back saying it was there. Now the check was forgotten by the Regional Manager lol. What type of people work there wow. I know if I forgot something that important for a client or customer my vice president would throw an absolute fit. Heck it sounds like a normal thing for you guys. Thanks for paying me. I hope the business ethic and practice changes because you guys need a huge restructure
