The Village at Iron Blossom

I'm filing a complaint against the management at the Village at Iron Blossom apartment homes. I was sent to collections for the amount of $857.00 without any explanation why. I was not contacted via telephone mail or email regarding any type of bill. I received a call from the collections office 3 months after my move out date. When I asked the office management why I was not notified and what I was being sent to collections for they said " I cannot find you file I don't know and I can't release any information once the bill has been submitted and that I would need to contact collections.". I asked them why I wasn't notified they had no answer to give me I asked if theyvhad my forwarding address which I provided to them they told me they sent to [redacted] (which was my previous apartment I had moved out of.) I received the bill and I was being charged for cleaning that I had already done and carpet replacemt for the entire apartment due to one hole in the dining room area. Tue fact that they replaced the entire apartment caroet and charged me and I was not notified until after being sent to collections is where my complaint is standing.Desired SettlementI would like to know if I am entitled to an appeal and a refund. And if what happens to them for not notifying me of any charges.Business Response In response to the complaint filed: A letter was sent to the last known address, which was the address of the apartment at our community. The resident visited our office during a reorganization of our office and the resident file was unable to be located at the time of their visit. It was located within a half an hour of their departure by the manager. Once we contacted the collection agency to request a hold on collection attempts, we were informed that per our contract, we are unable to discuss disputes or payments with the account holder. A call was made to [redacted] and a message was left for her to inform her of this. When the call was returned, she was informed that we were unable to discuss the file due to our contractual obligations with the collection service. She was given the information to contact the collection agency and the collection agency was provided with all items that she had requested. The damage charges were for holes in the carpet and pet stains throughout the apartment causing the carpet and pad to be replaced. The cleaning charges were for both of the tubs/showers and the oven.
