My mother-in-law moved to Ohio from Colorado this past weekHer promised "late date for delivery" was March 26thWhen her belongings didn't arrive on time, a phone call was in orderThe lady at STEVENS was suprised to hear that the delivery was to be made in OhioWe later found out that the truck went to Cleveland New Mexico instead of Cleveland OhioSo now the delivery was made "days late." not one apology or discount for being inconveniencedAll the paperwork did say CLEVELAND OHIOStevens, you dropped the ballNever again

Working with Stevens made everything about our cross country move harder than it had to be Details I was told by the salesman before I signed the contract, like pick up and delivery windows and how our things would be handled and stored, turned out to be completely different after I signed the contract
The company accidentally entered an incorrect pick up date into their computer system and then said there was nothing they could do to change it to the correct date After our things were picked up and taken away, no one at the company could tell us when they might be delivered and the customer service person we had been working with before the move was suddenly on a leave of absence so we were shuffled around from person to person who all knew nothing about our account
We were originally told (before signing the contract) that our stuff would be loaded onto one truck and be transported to our new location and that the driver and crew that loaded our stuff would be the only people to handle our belongings As it turned out our stuff was unloaded in a warehouse somewhere where it sat for a few weeks then was reloaded onto another truck and driven to our new location by a different driver and crew
Our stuff finally arrived at our new location almost a month after it was picked up, which was days past the longer delivery window we were given after our contract was signed The driver and crew who delivered our stuff were the rudest least professional people I have ever met They had no idea what things on the truck belonged to us (even though they were all supposedly tagged and inventoried) They unwrapped our wooden furniture and left it laying in gravel and asphalt even after we asked them not to As a result most of our larger pieces are scratched along whatever side was laying on the ground We also witnessed the driver and crew climbing on boxes and handling boxes marked fragile very roughly In the end they also managed to loose a file cabinet of ours Its unclear whether it was on the truck and the driver couldn't find it or it was lost in whatever warehouse our stuff was stored in
All in all I chose Stevens because they were the least expensive, and if I could do it all over I would gladly have paid more to have smoother moving process, more honesty and less damaged and missing furniture

I chose Stevens Van Lines and regret it to this day. We moved from Toledo, Ohio to San Antonio, Texas. The furniture arrived damaged. The packers cut their boxes on top of a cherry Ethan Allen dining room table. I had multiple slits on the table as well as a broken table leaf. We had thousands of dollars in damage, purchased their insurance and they refused to pay any portion of the claim for the damages. We are moving again and the horror of the move with Stevens Van Lines still haunts us today.
