The Vintage at South Meadows Reviews (2)

I lived at the Vintage at South Meadows fro one year and then provided notice that we were moving once we purchased a home. Prior to moving out we gave adequate notice (1 month) and we were not in a lease and also provided a formal written notice. We were told that we would receive our deposit back after inspection was completed. Once we moved out, (it was a Sunday) I called the from office the next day and no one answered so I left a message asking how I could return our keys and the gate remote. No one called me back and I waited a week until I called again. In my second voicemail I asked them to call me back for how I could return the keys and remote and inquired about my security deposit. Again, no one called me back so I stopped by the office the next day to talk to someone and there was a sign posted that their office was closed at the time. The following Saturday I stopped by the office to speak with someone before I went to work and there was another sign outside of the office that their office was closed that day. I called again the next week and left a message and when I did not receive a call back for the third time I contacted the corporate office who manages the property, Seqouia Properties and left a message, they also never returned my phone call. The next week (at this point it had been over a month since we moved out) I went to the from office to inquire about our security deposit. The manage re Christie came out to speak with me and stated that I was not receiving my deposit and that I had a balance due. I asked her why I had not heard of this until now, when I had stopped by their office twice, left 3 voicemails with her office, and 1 voicemail at their corporate office. She told me they had been busy and undergoing an overturn in staff and had not yet had a chance to return calls. She then told me a list of damages to the apartment including staining of the carpet and wall damage that I was responsible for paying. She had no evidence that I was responsible forProduct_Or_Service: ApartmentAccount_Number: 1411Desired SettlementAdjustment of the bill and a correction to the credit report. I am only responsible for the current due of rent and utilities. Renter was never made aware of any issues, and died a pre-inspection of the unit which I was told was available by maintenance. Also, maintenenace told me that I was allowed to see the carpet after it was pulled and I was never made aware of this, despite my four voicemails and multiple attempts to speak to the from office. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]Hello,We are in receipt of the consumer complaint for The Vintage at South Meadows community.[redacted] vacated the Vintage Apartments on 05/02/2015. The deposit on-hand for her account totaled $200.00, in which was used to absorb damages to the apartment after the resident vacated. On 5/14/2015 the Final Account Statement was emailed to the resident, and reflected the following charges:- Apartment Clean $100- Carpet Replacement (due to pet urine) $987.00 ~ This amount was prorated based on the age of the carpet- Drip Pans (4) $12- Painting $32.50 ~ This amount was prorated due to the length of time she resided in the apartmentWhen the apartment was vacated, it was not left to the community in the condition that it was left to the resident at move-in. This includes a professional cleaning and professional carpet cleaning. Upon move-out the carpet appeared to have significant pet damage. Due to the condition of the carpet, we were forced to replace the carpet at the residents expense, as the carpet was newly installed on 10/22/13; this is approximately 6 months prior to the resident moving in. Based on the average 5 year life span of the carpet installed, we prorated the replacement based on the 3 years 5 months left - this totaled $987.00. Upon move-in there was no evidence of the carpet having pet damage, based upon the move-in inspection signed by the resident. The Final Account reflected a balance in the amount of $1,197.53In our research of the account, it was discovered the Final Account Statement for [redacted] was processed and delivered in a timely manner. Additionally, the charges are accurate. By July 21st, there was no payment made to the balance on the account, to which we were obligated to send the account to a 3rd party company for further collection efforts.Based upon the invoices received from the vendors performing the repairs in the apartment, as well as condition of the apartment upon move-in, we do not see any areas to which the cost of damages can be negotiated at this time. However, we would be willing to speak with the collection agency about removing the account from collections and setting up a payment arrangement for the balance due. We are happy to try and work with [redacted]'s financial schedule as much as possible in order to have the balance settled.Thank you,

I moved into this complex on December 12th, 2014. The office did not answer one of my many messages or emails prior to our move in date and were completely surprised when my roommate and I showed up to sign our lease.2 weeks after finalizing our lease agreement and moving in we were sent an email stating we owed $360 more as we were misquoted on our move in cost. We have emails, lease paperwork and signed documents with the "incorrect amount" signed by The Vintage leasing staff, myself and my roommate [redacted] Since our move in we have had issues with amenities that are included in our rent cost, fireplace and community gates, that do not work. We have reached out to maintenance multiple times to have our fireplace fixed and it still does not work. From January to April we received intermittent threats of eviction before the manager told us we need to speak with their corporate office ourselves. I spoke with [redacted] at [redacted] in regards to our situation and she removed the misquoted cost from our account. Most recently we have come up with a payment plan due to a new added pet rent. The initial payment of $200 was dropped off as scheduled with The Vintage staff on Friday, July 17th. [redacted] emailed me on July 23rd stating the check was not received. I was out of the state and my roommate Ashleigh was in charge of dropping off the check. She confirmed the check was dropped off but decided to put a stop payment on that check and issue a new one on the 24th.We have just been notified that our rent check will not be accepted due to non payment. I confirmed with my roommate once again that she dropped off the check. This time the check had been cashed but was not applied to our account.Desired Settlement[redacted] and Myself would like to end our professional relationship with this business and resign our tenancy effective 9/1/2015. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]We are in receipt of the consumer complaint regarding the community, The Vintage at South Meadows. We feel the concern has been resolved, prior to the complaint being formally sent to the Vintage community, from the Revdex.com. On 8/5/15, [redacted] contacted the Vintage Apartments Leasing Office. The resident expressed some concerns regarding their experience at the community. During the conversation Justine requested to end her residency with the community and forgo the fee associated with terminating the lease early. The Community Manager, [redacted], agreed with her request and accepted [redacted] Notice to Vacate, on 8/5/15. As an additional customer service gesture, [redacted] also allowed the notice to expire on 9/1/15 as requested, and did not require a 30-days-notice, as outlined in the lease agreement.Additionally, our records indicate that all money received from [redacted] has been posted to her rental account ledger. The resident has agreed that all money has been appropriately applied to her rental account as well.If there are any further concerns that need to be addressed regarding [redacted], we are happy to review.Thank you,
