VIR refuses to offer promised refund
I entered into an agreement with this company to rent a house in *** in Florida for the time period Dec 28, 2017 to Jan 31, 2018.

In mid-December, they emailed me and indicated that they had to move my rental to a different location. I indicated in an email that I was unhappy with the change of rental. They emailed back and indicated that due to clause #5 in our contract, they had a right to move our rental location. I would lose our entire payment if we cancelled. I informed them that I wasn't about to lose our entire payment. Meanwhile, they emailed me and indicated that if I wasn't happy, then they would offer a full refund. The rental payment was in the neighborhood of $6,700.00. I have the entire email stream in writing. They indicated that the refund would arrive soon. This was mid-December.

I received nothing from VIR to this day. I emailed the contact on Jan 3, 2018 and this was never returned. I called the administration/accounting department on Jan 16 and again on Jan 18, and my calls were recorded, but unfortunately never returned.

This is my first step in recovering funds. If the Revdex.com can't help, then I will be forced to initiate litigation.

Desired Outcome

I would like VIR Group to refund $6704.42 by check within the next 30 days.

Guest was moved to a different unit as allowed per our contract for January 1st arrival. Guest refused to accept. We bowed out and said ok we'll refund you in full, allow 30 days for refund to post as per our contract. Refund due January 30th. It's January 22nd.

VIR is indicating that it will issue a full refund. If it does, then I will drop the complaint. So, I will wait a while to see if I receive the refund. It may be after Feb 1, so in the meantime I will keep this issue open.

The VIR Group did indeed submit a credit card credit of $1,571.87 on Jan 22, 2018. However, we paid for the rental IN FULL, in the amount of $6,704.42. VIR still owes us $5,132.55. The amount VIR credited us was only the down payment. If you need documentation of bank statements, I can provide those if you provide me a mailing address. I would like this matter settled soon, as we are in the process of hiring a Florida attorney and more expenses will be involved. Thank you.

If the customer is in the process of hiring a Florida Attorney, then there's nothing else we can do to assist this customer. We have done everything we had to do, the customer asked to withdraw the complaint. Revdex.com didn't withdraw the complaint and now the customer is hiring an attorney. That is fine. Please have the customer direct his attorney to contact ours -

Vir group did not deliver the property we rented from them for Jan feb and March and does't. Return our calls--we want or money refunded
On 12/31/17 I got An email that the property had rented for three months was no longer aviable.said owner had lock VIR out of the property.1/1/18 Alister from VIR called said may have a house on the 10th or 12th will keep us informed. On 1/2/18 Mike from VIR email said he was working on a fix to their problem.on 1/5/18 *** left a voice message they thought they had a property for us on 1/15/18 would let us now when they knew for sure. Did hear anything for a WEEK so called on 1/12/18 got an answering service asked for a return call from VIR do not get one. Also sent email on the 12th asking for an update never replied.Called again on the 13th, 15th and 16th always got answering service VIR never return our calls. We also sent Emails at the same time again no reply. On the 1/18/18 sent Email to Alistair CEO of VIR asking for our refund.He finally replied stating that he was out of the loop on the issue and asked Mike to update us.Mike Emailed he was working on it.on 1/20/18 sent an Email to Alistair asking again for our refund and to Please call us .Still no call..Over the last 24 days we have called and Email several times and feel like we are taking advantage of because we are in Pennsylvania and not in fl so they don't return our calls and Emails

Have been in constant contact with Mr and Mrs *** They refused to wait for a replacement home. January's refund has been processed but they forced cancellation of February and March.

The VIR Group has never offered us a replacement home. We would still take a replacement home for February and March but this firm refused to answer our emails and phone calls. The latest email was sent on 1/20/18 and VIR still has not responded to it. Our last phone call was 1/23/18 at 1:50 pm was told they would return the call but still have not. We do not understand what "January's refund has been processed" means. When and how will we receive our refund for January?

Mr and Mrs *** have instructed an attorney to be involved. This is great as the attorney will be able to see contractual obligations vs emotional demands.

I am attaching for you all of the communication so far. We trust that as this matter is in legal hands, that any redactions will be handled by the Revdex.com.

In a nutshell - *** cancelled. Then when they realized they didn't want to cancel, there was no availability. Our properties book up a year in advance.

They paid a non-refundable rate for the property. We offer 10-15% discounts for our VIP Guests on the non-refundable rate. All the public can see this on our website here: https://***/ - alternatively you can visit our website and click FAQs at the top of the page

Mr and Mrs *** opted to be a VIP Guest.

We would LOVE to help Mr and Mrs*** and EVEN HAVE OFFERED THEM A CREDIT TOWARDS A FUTURE STAY!

They rejected that gesture and it is not fair that the company is being penalized for a decision Mr and Mrs *** made and refused to accept our generosity.

Excellent property with superior professional support. We did not think we'd get a property for a two-night family wedding visit and VIR proved us wrong and in great style. The property was beautifully furnished, sparkling clean, and perfectly located. And, it had far and away the best equipped kitchen we've ever had. We would have enjoyed using it more! After decades of renting properties with almost entirely good to great outcomes, we have to put our VIR experience at the top. The staff and management were exceedingly helpful and easy to work with. We look forward to renting with VIR again and encourage you to do the same. You won't be disappointed.

The VIR Group managed my property I rented out last season. They still owe me collected rent money from March 2017 and money in the working capital fund. In addition, they never returned my gate passes. They have been contacted via phone, email and text dozen of times with no results. They owe me more than $3000.00.
