This email is in response to a complaint against Wapiti Lodge. It is true that we charged Mr. [redacted] an additional fee of $75 for smoking in the room, but it was not the management that made that determination. The owner was on premises that morning and made the determination that the guest had...
smoked marijuana in the room. There is no scam being run to charge customers extra money. The guests sign an agreement when they check in that acknowledges we are a non-smoking establishment in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado. In addition the signed agreement also stated that guests may be charged an additional $175.00 if it is determined they have smoked in one of our rooms. We only charged Mr. [redacted] $75, considerably less than we could have. While we understand Mr. [redacted] is upset about the extra charge, a refund will not be forthcoming. Thank you for your time.Sincerely, Tina F[redacted], ManagerWapiti Lodge21625 Hwy 160Durango, CO 81301###-###-####[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted][To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the response. If the consumer does not provide a reason the complaint will be closed Answered] The owner / manager has a large credibility problem. One should consider the immediate situation with this owner and the evidence that surrounds him. He obviously is very cash strapped. Evidence for this is seen in his use of grade school size replacement toilets ( the smallest I have ever seen in a motel). He has super small bath tubs, with drain that does not stop. AC in unit has compressor that can not generate cool air no matter how hard it works, long overdue for replacement. He drives 20 year old vehicle with cardboard in the windows (unable to repair?). I drive a 2013 toyota which is paid for. I will suggest that this fellow has many clues to suggest that he is involved in scamming his customers with bogus charges in a desperate drive for cash. He obviously has some very bad cash demanding habits.
