Review: Warranty and delivery policy - If an applicance malfunctions while under warranty, (three months), we come to the appliance and repair it. If the appliance cannot be repaired while under warranty,(three months), the appliance will be replaced at no cost to the customer. The dryer was deliver on Monday, January 27. The delivery man plugged it in, the dryer would not get hot. I called and spoke with the owner on Tuesday, January 25, he refused to fix the dryer or give me my money back. He says that there is nothing wrong with dryer, so it must be something wrong with the electrical outlet. A electrician was sent by Berryland to check the electrical outlet. He found nothing wrong with the electrical outlet, He filled out a work order stating that. On the work order is he also stated that the dryer was in need of a heating element and that is why the dryer is not getting hot.Desired Settlement: Since the dryer never worked in the first place and he is giving me the run around I want a refund.

Response:

The dryer does not heat because it is not getting power like it should. We have been to her home on two occasions. She reported that the dryer did not heat, we went out and actually examined the entire appliance before we checked the outlet. There was no problem with the dryer. The outlet is completely dead on one side. I went personally and checked this.

Review: Purchased a used washing/dryer machine from this company in March,2015"Washing Machine Man" . In the month of July of 2015, the machine broke down. I called the company and was told that it would cost $65.00 dollars to repair. When the repair man came to fix the machine I was told that it was unrepairable. The reason being is that the whole motor was corroded and that it should have not been should in the first place. I asked" well why would they sell the machine if they hadn't thoroughly checked the machine out". He then stated that "he didn't know why". As the young stood there in the basement he asked to use my phone to call the office. He told the office what had taken place in my basement, and they told him that I could come and get another for the same price. Well, wouldn't you know that this didn't happen. I went into the establishment on Friday, July 24, 2015.

The receptionist said that I was out of warranty. I knew that coming in I just wanted to get an even exchange, because when they sold the machine it was already busted. The owner was not in at the time, so I called back about twenty minutes later and spoke to him about the situation on the phone. I asked him what was he going to do about the matter and the owner told me "not a God Damn thing" and hung up the phone . Now I am confused about the handling of this situation because I know as a law abiding citizen this should have not happened, especially when running a business. I have the washer in my house as prove that it should not have been sold. It should have been well inspected before anyone purchased it. This machine motor crumbled as I tried to wash clothes, it's smoky motor smoked up my house as I thought it would catch a fire. I had to unplug the the machine in hopes that it would not blow-up. I am saddened that businesses are able to sell merchandise to people who are struggling to make ends meet and nothing is being done about it. I hope that this matter can be resolved by either another machine or money refunded.Desired Settlement: At this point I would like to get a refund, because the machine should have not been sold in the first place. I'd rather save my money to purchase a new machine.

There's a couple ways to look at this. One simple way is that I turned down the repair job. If we can't fix it for $99 or less we don't charge you for the trip. Her appliance is not worth the repair, so I did not charge her. As far as the condition of her appliance goes, if it was in that condition when I sold it, she would have called a long time ago. Her appliance is out of warranty

Review: On August 01st, 2013 I purchased a Used Refrigerator from The Washing Machine Man upon receiving the device I started to notice that it was not performing right. So I called the store and told the Owner what was going on and he sent somebody out to fix it. This was the first week that I had the device. A week and a half later I called and complained about the same problem going on with the refrigerator and once again the Owner sent another person out to fix the device. With no avail to my refrigerator being fixed I had to call back a third time with the same complaint and once again the Owner sent someone back out again to fix it and he found that it was un repairable and told me that I would have to come into the store and swap out the broken one for another used device. On September 26,2013 I went into the store and picked out another one. When I was there the Owner informed me that since I was upgrading my device it would be a $20 fee due to it being $20 more then the Original device that I had brought on August 01st 2013. I told him that I was not paying any extra money because I was not upgrading I was swapping the device because the first one was defected and I had already lost over $200 in food that was damaged from the broken refrigerator. He agreed that I would not have to pay that price because of that reason but that If I was infact doing an upgrade under different circumstances then I would have to pay. Okay so I found a new one that I liked they told me it had to be delivered on Friday September 27th 2013. When the new device was brought to my home I was told to not plug it in for 3 hours so that I did not mess up the motor. It was delivered at 1:00 p.m. and I plugged it up at 5:00 p.m. just to be on the safe side...Now my reason for this complaint is because This new device is not working properly and again I have lost food. The freezer department is not freezing anything not even the cup of water that has been sitting in it for 2 days now. All I want to know is will I be able to get my money back for the cost of the refrigerator and the cost of food that was damaged and had to be thrown out....I have contacted [redacted] News because I need some kind of help obtaining my money back. I am very angry because I have gotten 2 refrigerators and I haven't even had them for 2 months and neither one of them was working properly. When I contacted the Owner again today and I asked for my money back after telling him the problem with the new device and I was told that they could send someone else out and if this can't be fixed then they will let me swap again. I don't want that, all I want is my money back.Desired Settlement: I just want my money back for the price of the refrigerator and to be re-embursed my money for the damaged food.

I am writing you in response to [redacted]. I only remember speaking to her directly once and that was Monday September 30th.

During our conversation this past Monday she did not mention that she had several problems with her fridge. I will not deny that she had more than one service call. If you need me to. I can look into our records and find a out what we did on every call she had if she had that many calls at all. The thing to remember is that she bought a machine. Machines malfunction. Everything that we sell is thoroughly inspected for defects proactively and reactively. At the end or the day they are still machines made by man. Most people have great luck with our product but a few do not. We always honor our warranty.

When [redacted] call ed my store Monday September 30th she barely allowed me to speak. She screamed at the top of her lungs and said to me verbatim " [redacted]" before I was able to finish a sentence . I literally may have been able to say the beginning of a word between her rants. She then hung up on me and I called her back. After she hung up on me several times without allowing me to say a word she finally let me say that I have to look at the appliance before we could even discuss a refund. After that she made it a point to take everything I said out of context and start screaming profanities again followed by hanging up on me again. If I had been willing to give her a refund I don' t know how she would have known because she did not allow me to speak.

She did mention that she had several deaths in the family and she spoke of some other tragedy in her life. I was honestly prepared to do so much more for her than give her a refund. After giving her situation careful

consideration this is where I am.

We are known for going out or our way to make a customer happy. This woman will get what she is entitled to under the contract that she signed when she purchased the original appliance and nothing more. First the warranty covers the fridge not the food in it so I will not give her anything for her food that she claims to have lost. Second, I am still willing to look at the refrigerator that she has in her possession now and replace or repair it as I see fit. Her sales agreement states in plain English that all sales are final.
