It is policy that the consumer provide a certified letter to cancel and she would receive a receipt from that letter If she has a receipt from the certified letter, we would need that information Once we receive the certified letter, the membership is automatically cancelled

*** *** became a member with The Weight Room on January 1, 2017. It is, and has been our cancellation policy, (in writing on her membership agreement) that we require a day written notice sent via certified mail as ordered by the Consumer Credit department. This method of cancellation is for the members safety not ours. With a certified letter, they have proof of when they requested to be cancelled. Ms*** called the first time to inquire about cancelling on January 10, and was instructed by our general manager, *** ***, that she would just need to send a certified letter of cancellation and that is serves as a day notice to cancel. She asked if she could bring it in and was told no, it must come certified mail. She told *** about her husband being military and *** even told her that if she would send the letter, she would waive the days for her as they had already moved. We received her certified letter on 3/21/18, and we cancelled her account on 3/22/18. Ms*** then proceeded to contact her bank and tell them that she had cancelled in December and had January, February and March payments reversed. Upon review, I am still debating on whether to forward this account on to our collections department to further collect on money due us so with that being said, there will be NO refund given as she was given explicit instructions on how to cancel on numerous occasions

*** members, Mr*** was not on the listI then asked Dan Fields about him and he
verified that Mr*** was not with *** ***. Upon this information, we began billing him as a member once
again. Not one time until April,
did he indicate to anybody here that he had " cancelled" his membership with The Lighthouse in December He was FULLY aware that the gyms had merged and he would be billed as The Weight Room
from January on
Mr*** was looking for a way to end his membership without following the standard cancellation procedures from either facility.After contacting me in April,
I waived
the standard cancellation procedures and cancelled his membership just on the reasoning that I wanted to keep my good relation shi p with *** ***
and he also had a past with themEvery conversation I had with Mr*** was extremely precise, just not in a precise manner that he
wanted to hear
We, The Weight Room, feel as though he ***ed to manipulate out of a contract he
had with The Lighthouse on the basis that The Weight Room did not do contractsWe do not feel as though we owe Mr*** a refund and I would
be most happy to explain it to him ONE more time
