Review: I purchased a bottle of bourbon for my best friend's birthday and arranged for it to be shipped to him in Madison, WI on 6/**. I received an email confirmation that night regarding my order #[redacted] and the cost of $49.60 paid via PayPal. Then I never heard anything for two weeks, nor any information regarding the tracking # provided. I followed up and got no response. Then on 7/*, I received the following email: "Dear [redacted], Thank you for contacting us regarding your order. Since we began at The Whiskey Place it has been our goal to reach the top of the customer service charts. We've been successful and our reputation speaks for itself. You, the customer are our greatest asset and we value your business and trust. Unfortunately due to regulations in various states we can no longer ship into certain areas. We are working with the States in order to verify what the status is. In the interim we have decided to halt our activities until we can do our due diligence. This decision has been made to ensure that we don't disappoint any of our customers. We don't want to make shipping commitments until we get clarity on the regulations by state. We would like to sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and offer you a full refund. Your satisfaction is our number one priority and we appreciate your understanding. We hope you will stay with us." I understand the issue and just wanted my money refunded. I have emailed them multiple times a day since and tried to call multiple times as well, but no one has picked up the phone. On 7/**, I finally received the following email: "hy [redacted], we apologies for the delay.do to are vast amount of orders we are unfortunately backed up however you will see your refund in a timely manner.thank you for being patient and again apologies for the inconvenience. sincerely john" It is now 8/*, and I have still not received my refund of $49.60, for an item purchased over a month and a half ago that was never shipped, and I am tired of trying to contact the company and getting no response. If there is anything you can do to nudge them about refunding my money, I would really appreciate it!Desired Settlement: I just want my $49.60 refunded as soon as possible.

At this time, I have not been contacted by The Whiskey Place regarding complaint ID [redacted]. Additionally, I have not tried to contact The Whiskey Place directly since I filed this complaint. I would still very much like a resolution to this issue and the refunding of my money, and would like to know how to proceed from here. Please advise, and thank you for your help. It is much appreciated.

Review: I had a monthly subscription to their Scotch of the Month club. Every month they deducted money from my PayPal account and I received a shipment a week later. On July **, 2013 $95 was deducted from my PayPal account and I received an email that I would be getting my monthly shipment soon. By July[redacted] when I hadn't received anything, I tried to contact them. Their website was now down because of problems with state laws and shipping. I called their customer service number twice before I got someone. On July [redacted] when I finally got through to a manager he said they can't ship anything right now and they would refund my money. He said he couldn't send me an email confirmation because their system didn't do that. I was supposed to receive a refund within a couple days and I haven't seen one since. I stopped all future payments to The Whiskey Place on Paypal and put in a claim on the July [redacted] transaction. As of August *, 2013 I have not received any resolution to my claim and I have not received a refund. I tried contacting the company by phone again and their systems says they aren't taking orders and to email them. I have emailed again asking for my money back or I will take legal action.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for my $95 taken out of my account on July [redacted] for which I never received any product.

Review: I ordered a 6 month single-malt whiskey membership from this company on 7[redacted]/2013 (Order #[redacted]) and paid $95 on both 7/** and 8/** through Paypal. I have tried to contact the company on multiple occasions via both phone and email and have not received any response. This morning (9/**/13) I tried to contact the company again via phone, at ###-###-#### and received the "this number has been disconnected" automated response. I do not believe this company is still in business.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed the $190 I have paid and would like an apology from the company.
