I am a new home buyer and after the home inspection we found a few issues that needed to be addressedThe seller of the home contacted Whittington Construction Group to make said repairs
The repair should of been a simple install of a new thermostatOnce I moved into the house and went to turn on the heat I found that the thermostat wasn't workingI tried everything that I knew to get it to turn on and nothing workedI then called Whittington Construction Group and expressed my problem and let them know what was going onThis is on a Saturday night, he assured me that he would call his HVAC guy on MondayMonday came and went with no phone call or follow upWhile on the phone explaining the problem he kept saying "thermostats are easy to install as they are only like wires to hookup"This was not the case at all, there is actually 5-wires to connect depending on the type of heat pump you have
Fast forward to Sunday, luckily I was able to get in touch with an HVAC guy who is friends of the familyUpon inspection it was found that the thermostat wires were connected wrong, wires that were not supposed to be connected wereThere was also some wires that needed to be jumped to other locations which were notAlso on back of the thermostat the jumper was still set to gas, when the system he was working on was electricThe jumper and the wrong wires that were hooked up caused the fuse to blow in the heat pumpAfter hooking up the correct wires to the correct locations and installing a new fuse, the heat pump started to work
It is beyond me that you can install something and not test the system to make sure it is working properlyThis and the lack of customer service and follow up is something that will keep me from recommending or considering Whittington Construction Group for any future home repair or renovation needs
