The Windsor Companies Reviews (5)

We take complaints very seriously at the Windsor CompaniesWe have an excellent rating which is published online (out of 5)We understand that from time to time there are issues that arise and we are always very responsive when we have been involved in the repair or replacementWith regard to this complaint, our Rooter team did go out to the property on May 15, to replace an above ground, broken shut-off valve (in a water meter pit) which was identified by the City of Columbus when they had attempted to turn on the water at the curb (note: the owner previously had the water shut off for some unknown reason)The replacement of the shut-off valve was completed by our team without any water in the lineWe were notified on May 24, by the customer that the city was unable to inspect the valve because the water meter pit was full of waterWithout any additional cost to the customer, we responded to the customer that day and pumped the water out of the meter pit allowing us to diagnose an underground break in the water lineUpon our identification of this issue, we let the customer know what we found and asked if he would like us to make a bid for that repairHe said he was going to get a second opinion and did not contact us again until he had the water line replaced along with our valve by another companyIt's important to note that the water was turned on prior to the City's inspection and Windsor had no part in thatIt is common for water lines to break at the curb box which is why the City does not allow anyone other than their personnel to turn water on & off at the curbAdditionally, the water line at the property was originally from the 1970s and turning the water on can commonly cause water line breaks in older lines due to pressure changesWindsor feels it did everything it was asked to do and would have happily resolved the additional issue had we been given the chance

Send me a check for reimbursement or credit my card for the charge. I still find Windsor Companies acted irresponsibly and have caused the issue

Please see responses in line."The replacement of the shut-off valve was completed by our team without any water in the line" It was not completed properly. After their attempt to complete is when the water leak began. There was no leak prior to this"We were notified on May 24, by the customer that the city was unable to inspect the valve because the water meter pit was full of waterWithout any additional cost to the customer, we responded to the customer that day and pumped the water out of the meter pit allowing us to diagnose an underground break in the water line. Upon our identification of this issue, we let the customer know what we found and asked if he would like us to make a bid for that repairHe said he was going to get a second opinion and did not contact us again until he had the water line replaced along with our valve by another company"I spoke to Justin G*** on the 25th he said he didn't know what to do. This left me with no confidence in the company and I reached out to another company to resolve the matter. When the other company had arrived and diagnosed the issue it was clear that the nut and line had been over torqued causing the break and the rubber washer being askew (leaks not 1!) I also have evidence via text message on the 25th where I requested he call me. There was no response to that nor a follow up call from the Windsor company"It's important to note that the water was turned on prior to the City's inspection and Windsor had no part in thatIt is common for water lines to break at the curb box which is why the City does not allow anyone other than their personnel to turn water on & off at the curbAdditionally, the water line at the property was originally from the 1970s and turning the water on can commonly cause water line breaks in older lines due to pressure changesWindsor feels it did everything it was asked to do and would have happily resolved the additional issue had we been given the chance"Nobody else was there except Windsor. Fortunately I have a neighbor witness to their actions on the night of the 24th. Windsor acted outside of the City's policy. If this matter is not resolved through these means my next step is to see what can be done to revoke their license/legal action

We take complaints very seriously at the Windsor Companies. We have an excellent rating which is published online (4.7 out of 5). We understand that from time to time there are issues that arise and we are always very responsive when we have been involved in the repair or replacement. With regard to...

this complaint, our Rooter team did go out to the property on May 15, 2017 to replace an above ground, broken shut-off valve (in a water meter pit) which was identified by the City of Columbus when they had attempted to turn on the water at the curb (note: the owner previously had the water shut off for some unknown reason). The replacement of the shut-off valve was completed by our team without any water in the line. We were notified on May 24, 2017 by the customer that the city was unable to inspect the valve because the water meter pit was full of water. Without any additional cost to the customer, we responded to the customer that day and pumped the water out of the meter pit allowing us to diagnose an underground break in the water line. Upon our identification of this issue, we let the customer know what we found and asked if he would like us to make a bid for that repair. He said he was going to get a second opinion and did not contact us again until he had the water line replaced along with our valve by another company. It's important to note that the water was turned on prior to the City's inspection and Windsor had no part in that. It is common for water lines to break at the curb box which is why the City does not allow anyone other than their personnel to turn water on & off at the curb. Additionally, the water line at the property was originally from the 1970s and turning the water on can commonly cause water line breaks in older lines due to pressure changes. Windsor feels it did everything it was asked to do and would have happily resolved the additional issue had we been given the chance.

After careful consideration and evaluation of this matter, Windsor will fully refund the original amount paid to our firm by you. We accept no liability for any additional work due to unrelated underground leaks which were advised to you and work performed by another company. We apologize for your experience and it is not reflective of our standards.
