Complaint ID [redacted]I reject the response from the business and consider it to be unacceptable.According to the business, [redacted] contacted them on October 21 2016 to give them her new employment information and it was verified on October 26th, which, is true. However, on October 26th, I received confirmation from my prospective employer that the offer of employment was rescinded. Upon receiving this call, I contacted the Mr. W[redacted] and stated that I was no longer employed. At this time, Mr. W[redacted] stated that we were no longer eligible for the house. According to Mr. W[redacted] as seen in his response, he states that we forfeited the deposit if we changed our minds for the house. However, we did not change our mind but became ineligible to rent the house prior to the lease signing. Mr. W[redacted] stated that he could not rent us the house because we did not meet the income requirements, which makes perfect sense. We were also told by him that there were no other applications and there's no way others would be turned down if we were told one day prior that we were approved and immediately the next day told we were ineligible before a lease had not even been signed. He only returned $870 of the $1170 that was paid for the deposit. The other person involved is my partner, [redacted] who is aware of this complaint and the both of us would like to receive out full deposit back since we were not eligible for the house. Additionally, Mr. W[redacted] never contacted my prospective employer to verify the letter, if he did then he would have known that the offer no longer was there. We did not change our minds as agreed but were told we weren't eligible so therefore according to the documents we signed, we are entitled to the full amount and should be refunded an additional $300.
