To Whom it May Concern, We take pride at the Yachtsman Lodge and Marina in meeting and exceeding guest expectations, but unfortunately sometimes things do happen I am very sorry to hear that this particular guest was unhappy with the service she received in regard to cancelling her reservation with us This guest booked a stay with us through a third party website which does state our cancellation policy (if you cancel your reservation inside days of your arrival date you are responsible for your entire stay)We certainly understand certain allowances must be made depending on the situation, and we do have exception policies in place so our guests will not lose their money if something happens last minuteFor a rescheduling fee, our guests are offered the option to have us hold the amount they were responsible for (less taxes) for one year so the guest can call and reschedule another stay within that time frame at their convenienceIf we do happen to sell out the night of their original reservation, the guest does receive a full refundWe understand things happen and want to do our best to accommodate guest as much as possible, but we also take pride in remaining professional and consistent with our policiesWhen this guest canceled she opted to take the rescheduling fee and have her deposit held for a yearUnfortunately there was an error on our side of the process, and the charges were posted incorrectly (this included the $rescheduling fee), increasing the price she was charged by $The guest has been refunded the $and still has a remaining credit here at the Yachtsman Lodge and Marina, which we will be refunding The Yachtsman is a pet-friendly property and we are true dog-lovers ourselves—we understand the stress and worry that comes with an ill pet, and the need to make sure they are well cared forI hope this guest will visit the Yachtsman in future travels to the Kennebunk’s and enjoy the property as much as we do!
