July 15, 2016Dear *** ***:I am writing in response to a York Water Company customer's inquiry regarding charges for wastewater serviceThe customer moved out of their residence and received a final bill for water and wastewater servicesThey resided in the home during a portion of the monthly
billing period and felt that the Company should prorate the flat rate wastewater chargeTwo CSR’s and the Vice President-Customer Service informed the customer that the Company's Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approved tariff does not provide for proration of the monthly flat rate wastewater chargeThe billing is correct and no credit is due.Sincerely,Vernon B.Vice President-Customer Service

I am rejecting this response because: we were only at the residence two weeks of the billing cycle therefore the service charge should of been $25.00 which is half of the normal service charge. From what I understand from the customer service representatives at York Water I have spoken to there have been many complaints about this and they also agreed with me. We should be owed back half the service fee of $25.00 they should have to prorate the service fee according to the time frame the resident is residing at that address. This should not be legal York water is taking money from there customers that does not belong to them, so plain and simple York Water needs to prorate there service charge. They should pay me $25.00 back that they owe me.
