In response to Revdex.com complaint # [redacted] As per the terms printed on the back of the gift cards, they are not redeemable for cash.The Eastgate Brew and View has become insolvent and closed January 2ndTo accommodate our patrons as best we can, we are offering that gift cards can be used at any of the other locations that we manage, The Esquire, Mariemont and Kenwood Theatres for concession, alcohol or ticket purchasesThey can be used in any combination at the three theatres that are all located within 20-minutes of the closed location Due to this patron's particular situation, she was further offered that she could use her gift cards for a private auditorium rental for her and her guests at a discounted rate at Esquire, Mariemont or Kenwood Theatre

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowI feel they should not have been sailing gift cards to a location that was closing within a few weeks without giving the patron knowledge of the closure before the purchase. I feel this was false advertisement and under these circumstances a refund should be acceptable. The other locations are 2 hrs from my location if you figure in traffic and that is entirely to far to travel for a movie. Regards, [redacted]

As I made clear in my initial conversation with the business and in my Revdex.com complaint, offering to honor the gift certificates at other lesser cinemas is not a like-for-like exchangeI purchased the experience of a movie combined with in-cinema dining as a Christmas giftThe other names cinemas do not offer this experienceIn my view, this is like purchasing a gift card for an upscale restaurant and being told it’s now good only for fast food.
