Theatron Events Reviews (3)

I purchased tickets for Dancing with the Stars. This place has overcharged me. Ticket cost for Orchestra B Row B 4 four tickets at $166.00 each with service charge of 4 X 50.80 for a total of $203..20 and delivery charge of $15.00. Total cost $882.20. They were to be delivered on 1 Jan which is a holiday and no mail delivery. I ended up having to buy additional tickets from Ticket Magic for 4 tickets cost $707.49. This is a difference of $174.71. I was provided a number to call and the number would stop ringing or go blank. Not a reliable company

Review: I selected Theatron Events to purchase tickets to the [redacted] show. I selected tickets in ROW F FRONT ORCHESTRA . The tickets that were listed just below these tickets were differentiated by stating either LC, RC, LEFT and RIGHT. The seats I purchased were advertised as FRONT ORCHESTRA;not RIGHT ORCHESTRA OR LEFT ORCHESTRA. I paid PREMIUM prices for these tickets. The tickets I received were the MOST EXTREME RIGHT ORCHESTRA: seats 405 and 406. The seats were listed as ORCH RGT on the tickets, not FRONT ORCHESTRA as advertised. The advertising was deceptive/misleading since it specifically stated FRONT ORCHESTRA and the other tickets specified RIGHT or LEFT. When I contacted the Seller to register my complaint, they responded with a typical unaccountable response for their egregious act and offered to do nothing. This is the DISPLAY of ticket sales. FRONT ORCHESTRA F 2 left 2ND BALC LC 2A-2H 6 left 2ND BALC LC 2A-2J 6 left 2ND BALC RC 2A-2G 6 left 2ND BALC RC 2A-2H 6 left FRONT ORCHESTRA E 4 left 1ST BALC LEFT 1A-1H 4 left 1ST BALC RC 1A-1H 4 left 1ST BALC RC 1A-1J 4 left 1ST BALC LEFT 1A-1J 4 left ORCH RIGHT E-GG 4 leftDesired Settlement: I would like my seats replaced with FRONT ORCHESTRA-ROW F as I had requested;not in the RIGHT OR LEFT sections, or a REFUND. I also want to alert others so they won't fall victim to this deceptive advertising.Thank you very much for attending to this matter. I truly appreciate your service.

Response:

The customer contacted us after purchasing tickets to[redacted] and was upset that the tickets were in the Right Orchestra instead ofthe Center Orchestra. The tickets were never advertised by us to be inthe Center Orchestra section. They were advertised as being in the FrontOrchestra which is exactly where they are located. Ticket brokers do notlist the exact seat numbers of tickets on websites for many reasons. Werecommend that if you have a specific request to call us for more informationon the exact seat locations. This customer did not do that. Forsome reason she assumed that because they were not listed as to where exactlythey were in Row F, that they must be in the Center section. We did not forceher to buy tickets from us at the advertised price. She chose to buythese tickets at the advertised price and in the advertised section and that isexactly what she received. We recommended to her that in the future thatshe contact us directly if she was looking to sit in a very specific part ofthe theater and we would be happy to help her. In this case we do nothave other seats that are more central and just as close to swap out for hersand if we did they would have been priced higher then what she paid. Also, In this case the seats were purchasedfrom a web site other than ours which routs orders to us and charges us a percentageof the order. They do not let us canceltransactions once they are placed and therefore we have to hold her to theterms she agreed to upon purchase that all sales are final.

Review: I purchased what I thought were concert tickets for Paul Simon on the Theatron website, but they were actually only an interview. The reason I thought they were concert tickets is that I clicked on a link that said "concerts" which directed me to the "concerts" section of their website. Other merchants list this event as an interview in capital letters or "Talk with Paul Simon" but there was no such comment on the Theatron website. It was easily foreseeable that someone could think the event was a concert since it was in the concerts section and I got there by clicking their link saying concerts. In fact, I see that they have already had such complaints to the Revdex.com, so they definitely should know this could happen. I called repeatedly soon after ordering, but they did not pick up. Finally they responded to a voice message I left a few hours before the event, but they would not help remedy this easily foreseeable problem in any way.Desired Settlement: I think Theatron should refund the money for the tickets, or at least a portion of it. They misrepresented what they were selling. They should also remove interviews from the concerts section of their website. That is not an appropriate classification.

Response:

On October 6th 2013, [redacted] ordered tickets from us for the Paul Simon show on the same day and paid $57.00 a ticket plus service fees (slightly above face value). The show was not advertised by us as a concert in any way and therefore the customer was not deceived in any way. [redacted] simply had buyer's remorse after the purchase and wanted a refund since he changed his plans after he agreed to our terms when he checked out on our website that all sales are final. In fact, if [redacted] would have used the tickets that we hand delivered to him that day, he would have realized that Paul Simon did perform for a rare intimate audience in addition to talking about his songs. You can see the proof from the link below:

http://www.paulsimon.com/us/news/tune-now-live-blogging-paul-simon-qa-new-yorker... />
The customer purchased and received the tickets he ordered. Right before the performance he tried to cancel. We are not responsible for the content of the performance for any of the tickets we sell. We never advertised this performance as a concert (even though part of it was) and are not responsible for a customer who has buyer's remorse.

I am rejecting this response because:

Theatron Events has misrepresented the facts of this case in their response and demonstrated rude and poor business practices by claiming "buyer's remorse." "Buyer's remorse" would be an applicable term if one actually received what appeared to be offered, but later decided they did not want the item or service. That description simply does not fit the facts of this case - again, Theatron sold tickets to an interview in the section of their website labeled "Concerts" with no indication whatsoever it was an interview and I tried repeatedly to get ahold of them to correct this very foreseeable error within an hour of the purchase, but they did not answer the phone for several hours. Theatron's misleading response and poor treatment of customers is characteristic of a second rate company; more reputable ticket providers clearly label interviews as interviews, don't list interviews in the section labeled "concerts" with no indication, and treat their customers with respect. Hopefully Theatron will review and correct these very bad business practices going forward.
