Theis Motor Company [redacted] We did work on [redacted] vehicle When her vehicle arrived she stated that she thought it was a fuel pump because the car was cutting in and outShe told me that she wanted to go ahead and get it fixed because she needed a reliable vehicleWe of course wanted to check it out first and confirm that this is what it needed, especially since a fuel pump job would have been a pretty expensive repair and not something that you would want to do just by guessing. When we first test drove the vehicle it did not act up at all This was not unusual because she told us that it acted up sometimes and not othersSo we tested the fuel pressure and all of the readings were right where they should have beenSo we test drove the car later in the day and it did actually act up for usOn this particular vehicle a GMC Envoy the AC Relay and the fuel pump relay are interchangeableSo when it acted up our mechanic pulled the AC Relay and switched it into the spot for the fuel pump relayImmediately the vehicle ran perfectly again so we thought this had to be the problemThe new relay itself only cost $so we went ahead and ordered oneWe installed the relay and test drove it againThe vehicle again drove perfectly [redacted] picked up the vehicle and when she did our head mechanic talked with her about what we did, how he found the problem, and that there was still a chance that there was another problemHe explained to her that any time a vehicle acts up it may only do it part of the time and that it sometimes takes driving it a few days to know if it is truly fixed. She paid her bill of $as broken down below. One (1) AC Relay for $Hours Labor at $for Test Driving to checking for trouble and replacing the relay.Shop Charge of $and $TaxHer bill came to a total of $157.31Even if we did not get an ok from her on this relay we had her permission to spend some time diagnosing the vehicleWe had at least the hours' worth of time in inspecting and test driving the vehicle. If she is going to honest she would have to admit that when she picked it up the first time she was very happy with the price because it seemed to be a relatively easy fix.We received a call the next day saying that the vehicle was acting up againShe was clearly not happy and I understandI know it can be frustratingI did the best I could to calm her downShe never mentioned anything about a towIn fact she said she broke down at a relative's houseWe got the address and went over and got her car, which again drove fine over to our placeWe did not have to tow it and we did not charge her a service charge for going to get the vehicle. We relooked at her vehicle and spent a couple hours trying to figure out what the problem was and why it was still acting up sometimes and not othersOur head mechanic again looked at the fuse box area where the relay originally went badHe dug a little deeper and discovered that the underside of the fuse box had arched and the wires had partially melted as wellThis was a very odd problem that the car ran well sometimes but had a bad connection that made it run very poorly or not at all other times. So we called [redacted] and told her what we found, we explained that we were going to get a fuse box for it and repair the wiresShe was fully aware that we were doing thisWe had multiple discussions about it and she made it very apparent that she was unhappyI tried as many ways as I felt possible to try and reason with her but no matter what I said she was not going to be happy. She asked about a rental car and was offered a rental car at a discounted rate while we waited for the partSo the idea that she was not offered anything is just not true.Never the less we fixed the vehicle installing the fuse box and we even discounted the parts and only charged a fraction of the labor that it took to fix the carHer second bill broke down as follows.$for a fuse block.$Labor$Shop Charge$TaxHer total bill came to $229.03When she picked the car up she still was unhappyI knew this but after trying to talk reasonable with someone multiple times I knew that there was absolutely no way to make her happyI felt she was being completely unreasonableShe made it quite clear that she didn't think she should have to pay for any of the second repair. In my last conversation with her I explained that if we would have kept it after the first fix and drove it for a couple of more days it would have probably eventually acted up and we would have been able to then do the second fixShe would have had one bill that was larger instead of two smaller bills but we thought we had the car fixedI also explained that we wouldn't charge someone to keep their car for an extra to days to determine if we had fixed the problem.I think a fair minded person would realize that we made every attempt to fix her car in a cost effective wayCars will sometimes fool even the most seasoned mechanicWe charged not only a fair price for the repair but honestly a discounted rate compared to the time we had involved in the job.I don't think she was treated unfairly in any way and I hate that she brings gender up because those accusations are completely unfoundedThe total of her two bills came to $ and we fixed her car and I think we did it as cost effectively as possible.I wish I could have explained this to [redacted] in a way that she would have been happy with, and trust me I tried.Sincerely, [redacted] ***General ManagerTheis Motor Company

Theis Motor Company[redacted]We did work on [redacted] vehicle.
When her vehicle arrived she stated that she thought it was a fuel pump because
the car was cutting in and out. She told me that she wanted to go ahead and get
it fixed because she needed a...

reliable vehicle. We of course wanted to check it
out first and confirm that this is what it needed, especially since a fuel pump
job would have been a pretty expensive repair and not something that you would
want to do just by guessing. When we first test drove the vehicle it did not act up at all.
This was not unusual because she told us that it acted up sometimes and not
others. So we tested the fuel pressure and all of the readings were right where
they should have been. So we test drove the car later in the day and it did actually
act up for us. On this particular vehicle a 2006 GMC Envoy the AC Relay and the
fuel pump relay are interchangeable. So when it acted up our mechanic pulled
the AC Relay and switched it into the spot for the fuel pump relay. Immediately
the vehicle ran perfectly again so we thought this had to be the problem. The
new relay itself only cost $20.25 so we went ahead and ordered one. We
installed the relay and test drove it again. The vehicle again drove perfectly.
[redacted] picked up the vehicle and when she did our head mechanic talked with her
about what we did, how he found the problem, and that there was still a chance
that there was another problem. He explained to her that any time a vehicle
acts up it may only do it part of the time and that it sometimes takes driving
it a few days to know if it is truly fixed. She paid her bill of $157.13 as broken down
below. One (1) AC Relay for $20.251.5 Hours Labor at $80.00 for Test Driving to
checking for trouble and replacing the relay.Shop Charge of $6.60 and $10.28 TaxHer bill came to a total of $157.31Even if we did not get an ok from her on this relay we had her
permission to spend some time diagnosing the vehicle. We had at least the 1.5
hours' worth of time in inspecting and test driving the vehicle. If she is going to honest she would have to admit that when she
picked it up the first time she was very happy with the price because it seemed
to be a relatively easy fix.We received a call the next day saying that
