Review: I contacted my dental insurance which is [redacted] I was looking for a dentist for myself and my daughter, I was given the name of [redacted]. My initial visit was a good experience I was told I needed some work done and the information would be submitted to my insurance for approval. I started having really bad pain in my tooth. I contacted the dentist office and was advised to come on in, Upon arrival the dentist went over my [redacted] and decided he would start my [redacted] He advised me it would require another visit to complete.My first visit I was charged my deductible.(which as a participating provider) I should not have been charged until the claim was submitted to my insurance. A little skeptical yet I paid. My second visit, I was told I had a $150 copay (which had to be paid upfront). I told the clerk I wish I would have been told I had a copay before arriving because I was not prepared to pay so much that day. I paid $50 upfront and then I advised the clerk she could charge my card that friday because I was waiting for my paycheck. The next day I contacted my insurance company and to my surprise I was told I had no copay! I contacted the dentist office and the clerk told me it was not a copay but what my responsibility would be, and that is called (coinsurance). Paid to provider after the insurance pays, yet they still had not submitted my claim to the insurance! The clerk went on to tell me I was being charged for another procedure that had not even been performed yet. At this point I told her I wanted to a break down of what I was paying for, I told her it was fine to take the $100 out of my account I wanted to pay for what I had done, so I could start looking for another dentist. This clerk charged my card for more than $100! Unauthorized ! [redacted] is her name, very rude , sarcastic, when I visited the office to talk about the breakdown, she remained on her cell phone handling a personal call. She made me feel so low, as if I was beneath her.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology from the clerk, I would also like for them to refund me an overpayment that I was charged!!

[redacted] has a present credit balance of $26.00 which is being sent to her by check today. All insurance was paid to date and all necessary adjustments were credited to her account.

[redacted] was asked to pay only the patient portion of her bill and her $25.00 deductible.

The credit card payment made on April [redacted] 2013 should have been for $50.00. It was mistakenly credited for $106.20. The receptionist was unaware and put it through for the wrong amount.

As far as the cell phone call, I excused myself for 10 seconds to answer a call from my son who was catching a train to tell me the time I was to pick him up. [redacted] said "NO PROBLEM ANSWER YOUR CALL".

The utmost courtesy was extended to the patient as it is to all our patients. Thank you

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[In respect to the office I will say everyone did treated me with respect, except for the office manager [redacted]. I sat with her for over 10 minutes explaining why I was upset, she NEVER once apologized to me. And the fact that I have a credit with them makes my point, she was charging me without knowing what the insurance company themselves were leaving me liable for, I work for a reputable hospital in [redacted] and I know first hand what treating patients with respect is all about, and for her to be an "Office Manager" she should have treated me with more professionalism.
