I would like to bring forth one of the most disappointing & dreadful experience I had with TD- Bank who claim to be one of the best bank...
Recently, I refinanced my home mortgage with another bank with main intention of closing all debts (credit cards). In the process, in the third week of November 2015, I called all banks ([redacted], [redacted], [redacted]) & asked them to give me a tentative figure of amount that I need to pay by December 15, 2015 as I had authorised my new bank to close all credit cards.
In the process, all banks including TD gave me an estimated amount (above Canadian dollar twelve thousand with TD) that I need to pay & that figure was forwarded to my banker. The calculation was almost right as our Canadian dollars is not as floating as other weaker currencies.
The nightmare started when TD started sending me bills asking me to pay c$ 180+ as outstanding, in the process I called them & was informed in their call center that the calls were 'not recorded & I can't prove that I spoke to one of their employee, when call was escalated, a manager in call center accepted their mistake & she promised to look into the whole issue by going through the recordings & call me back...In this process, I had specifically requested TD to call me on weekends as it was best time for me to discuss the issue. The manger accepted it & informed me that she made a note of it...
I have been receiving calls on week days at odd times, when I am nurturing my twin babies. When I picked up the call today (February 25), automatic reply keeps on asking me to press different numbers without any person speaking to me.
I am terribly disappointed by this service of TD, who are, by the actions of few employees proving that money comes first than commitment & service to customers. It would be a matter of great interest how TD Canada trust would solve this...
