Dear MrM***: Thank you for contacting NALS Apartment Homes and allowing me the opportunity to address your concerns.It is noted that you made an attempt to clean all three ceiling fans after the potential cleaning charge was brought to your attentionHowever, the fans required further
cleaning after you vacatedWe have reduced the cleaning charge from $to $as a customer service gesture. I am rejecting this response because: Us having to forward the same emails several times requesting/demanding for them to be addressed IS NOT a timely manner of communication by any meansIt is not the tenants responsibility to investigate the electrical problems in the unit or with the appliancesWe have provided all the evidence from our side including but not limited to written statements and picturesNo evidence was ever provided by NALS or Rolling Oaks supporting their claim, no proper investigation was ever conductedThe invoice we received was for a different brand of appliance (Hotpoint instead of whirlpool)The repairs in in the unit were not done (kitchen cabinets are not painted properly till today), however we were charged for the labor timeA late fee of a $was added to our ledger when rent was paid on time (receipts can be provided upon request)Due to discriminatory, retaliative eviction tactics utilized by NALS property management this issue has also been forwarded to HUD and office of Attorney General

To Whom It May Concern, Please see the attached email correspondences which outline our position on the matter.The Maintenance Technician that responded to the fire incident has confirmed that at the time of the incident you told him you left food unattended on the stove which caused the fire,
and he witnessed a burnt pan with burnt food in the sinkThe Maintenance Technician also confirmed that he said, “this has happened before,” in response to your admission that the fire was caused by leaving food on the stove unattended. More importantly, there has never been a stove fire caused by electrical issues at Rolling Oaks as a community, the particular stove in question was confirmed to be in good working order prior to your residency, and there have been no indications or reports of issues with the stove prior to the fire incident. The stove involved in the fire is a Whirlpool, which is unrelated to the Hotpoint stove mentioned belowWe are not aware of a recall affecting the Whirlpool stove previously in your unitOur investigation indicates that you are responsible for the damageIf needed, we may be able to set up a payment plan for the fire damagesPlease contact the leasing office if you would like to pursue this option. I am rejecting this response because: No proper investigation was ever doneThe statements listed on the attached emails are contradictory: an email from K*** *** is stating that a pot was left unattended and an email from Mariana Avila states that a pan was left unattendedThe fact that Rolling Oaks never had a fire issue in the community does not automatically assume our responsibility for the incidentCurrently our unit has multiple electrical problems: lights get dimmer from time to time, switching the living room fan turns on the ceiling light instead.? NALS management communication practices and customer service was absolutely unacceptable: unanswered emails, refusal to escalate the issue, retaliative eviction threats.? ? ?
