Please see the attached email correspondences which outline our position on the matter.The Maintenance Technician that responded to the fire incident has confirmed that at the time of the incident you told him you left food unattended on the stove which caused the fire, and he witnessed a burnt pan with burnt food in the sinkThe Maintenance Technician also confirmed that he said, “this has happened before,” in response to your admission that the fire was caused by leaving food on the stove unattended.? More importantly, there has never been a stove fire caused by electrical issues at Rolling Oaks as a community, the particular stove in question was confirmed to be in good working order prior to your residency, and there have been no indications or reports of issues with the stove prior to the fire incident.? ? The stove involved in the fire is a Whirlpool, which is unrelated to the Hotpoint stove mentioned belowWe are not aware of a recall affecting the Whirlpool stove previously in your unitOur investigation indicates that you are responsible for the damageIf needed, we may be able to set up a payment plan for the fire damagesPlease contact the leasing office if you would like to pursue this option.? ? Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response because: No proper investigation was ever doneThe statements listed on the attached emails are contradictory: an email from K [redacted] is stating that a pot was left unattended and an email from Mariana Avila states that a pan was left unattendedThe fact that Rolling Oaks never had a fire issue in the community does not automatically assume our responsibility for the incidentCurrently our unit has multiple electrical problems: lights get dimmer from time to time, switching the living room fan turns on the ceiling light instead. NALS management communication practices and customer service was absolutely unacceptable: unanswered emails, refusal to escalate the issue, retaliative eviction threats. Regards, A [redacted]
