This Side Up Moving

I had a long distance move***, move coordinator, came out to see my home, where the movers were to enter/exitI was impressed with the professionalism of this visit...unfortunately it was downhill from there :( My items were to be picked up at my storage unit in Foley, AL & brought to north ALI received a call from the storage unit in Foley stating there were still items in my storage unit !!!!!The facility manager also said besides my items which were left by the movers , that the movers had left their personal trash in my unitShe said in her years of work there that had never happenedShe sent me several photos of my items that had been left which included a porcelain vase, a box of glass items and handmade Christmas items I immediately called the driver, [redacted] he began assuring me repeatedly that my unit was entirely emptyOver and over he was stating they "had everything out of my unit not to worry' I finally interrupted him and said I was looking at a picture of the items and he indeed did NOT get my items out of the unitHe said he was an hour out of Birmingham and could not turn around and get my belongings THAT THEY DECIDED TO LEAVE due to the box looking nasty.( I had told ***, move coordinator, & the movers my items had been in storage over years) :( I would never have known about my belongings that had intentionally been left if it had not been for the terrific manager of the storage facility, [redacted] of Extra Space Storage in Foley, AL Once here at my home, I watched as the movers unloaded my items, ~~~ my items which they did decide to move, from off the truckA painting from Oxford Galleries in Birmingham,AL, the glass was totally shattered as there was no wrapping of any sort to protect the glassI saw multitudes of large blue mats that were on the truck My back glass door was removed by [redacted] He asked to use my kitchen knife as he said they had no toolsI checked the door before they were to leave and he had not replaced the door!! I asked him to please put my door back up before leavingJarvis put the door back up but it did not close completelyI had to pick the heavy door up to completely make it close A few days later I called the This Side UP Moving office to ask [redacted] to please repair my door that [redacted] had taken off, telling him it was difficult for me to pick it up to be able to close it [redacted] said I could have a family member, church friend, some senior facility, or just someone walking down the street repair the problem that his employee had causedI was offended! and told [redacted] someone walking down the street wouldn't have tools, and it was HIS COMPANY'S responsibility to repair my door as it was before his employee removed it [redacted] later came out and worked on the doorIt operated ok for a while, now it is back as [redacted] left it ~ several inches from closing :( :( :( [redacted] said later in the summer when there is a move to the beach area they will return my items his employees decided to leave in my unitI said this was fine as the storage unit mgrsaid she had the boxes in her office..no problem Today [redacted] called [redacted] at Extra Space Storage in Foley, AL and asked her to ship MY ITEMS to HIM in Madison, and he would repay her [redacted] never asked if this was alright with meIT is NOT alright I don't want my porcelain, glass items shipped ~ I want them delivered which was in my contract [redacted] did not have the business scruples to even ask if this was alright with me before taking it upon himself to have MY ITEMS shipped Unorganized, poor business dealings, totally unprofessional moving crew Oh I almost forgot!! Jarvis told me HE AND HIS CREW WERE NOT GETTING PAID FOR MY LONG DISTANCE MOVE(He also asked if I was buying their lunch) I asked ***, move coordinator if he paid the guys for my move ~ he said yes, they were paid very well DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ~ toooooo many issuesHorrible experience ~ and it is still ongoing!!

I would not recommend this company The movers were all courteous, but they carelessly handled furniture, damaging at least a couch and a brand new washer Also, (this item was not on the list to move They took it down so fast that we didn't notice it until the truck was gone.) they took down from the wall an antique mirror that has been in our family for well over years, carelessly padded it, and when it arrived at our new residence it had irreparable damage After many calls to the company and to the project manager, and sending them pictures of the damaged mirror, the company decided to send me a check for $for compensation Once at our new residence, the movers did not follow all instructions as to placement of items They randomly put most items on our enclosed back porch, and it took weeks for us to locate some of the boxes They also included a smoke break and time for lunch in the time billed I would never have thought we should pay for their lunch time

I can't thank Colby Robinson and his team enough for helping my family with our move It's an unavoidable that moving always occurs during a high stress time, and having a responsive and flexible business willing and able to meet our evolving needs made a huge difference for us The entire process, from obtaining our estimate, through the packing and loading process, to their meticulous packing of our storage facility, and unpacking and moving into our new home was organized and professional - well worth the affordable cost We are thankful we had This Side Up Moving to help us through our transitionI always highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality moving company

I hired This Side Up Moving to move our office into an upstairs office in ProvidenceWe worked with *** to set the move up and he did an excellent job estimating the move and following up with us through the move processThe movers they sent were greatThey showed up on time, protected all of our office furniture, and completed the move near the estimated timeI highly recommend these guys if you are looking for a quality mover

Three weeks after using this company, I'm still waiting for wall repairs as the result of damage by the moversI had to initiate contact, it took multiple calls to get initial contact with their repair guy, and three promised scheduled repair times later I'm still waiting for someone to repair my wall

We've used This Side Up twice, and we had exceptional experiences with them both timesThey are professional, and they get the job done carefully and expedientlyIf you are deciding between moving companies, This Side Up is a great choice!

Customer service was very poorDamage was done to house and furnitureNo response from company after we found damage
Initially they were very responsive to get the jobDuring the move of my heavy furniture they had to be reminded to take care to not damage the house or the furnitureI purchased insurance from them for the move as wellAfter the movers left we found some things missing so we called This Side Up numbers we had and got no return response from them at allI called several times asking them to look for missing items on their truck but did not receive any response from the companyVery disappointed!They left me feeling like they just did enough to get my check and then moved on to the next victim

My brother moved several months ago from his apartment into a new homeHe was extremely concerned about the move because he wanted to protect all of his property and have trustworthy moversHe was blown away with This Side Up, so naturally when it was my turn to move, I called This Side Up and was immediately impressed and pleased with the professionalism of the staff via phone contactThe morning of my move, they arrived on time and immediately got to workBesides their perfect timing, the move was a breezeThey worked non-stop, taking extreme care of my belongings, but also while working at a fast paceNot only the did guys work hard, they were friendlyA perfect moving experience
