May 22, 2017To whom it may concern:On February 15, *** *** had his Chevrolet Corvette towed to usIt was diagnosed to be a blown engineWe started getting quotes on enginesHe also got his own quotesHe called and e-mailed daily to talk about what he found and had our employees
looking at different engine companies to help decide if a particular engine would work or notAfter agreeing on an engine from *** Engine we were e-mailed by him on February 24, at 4:a.mthat we could order the engineDo to the nature of our business, sometimes we get busy and the engine did not get ordered until Monday February 27, Tom informed him that he didn’t want to start on the vehicle until all the parts were hereWithin days of it showing up he was here checking it out, double checking where we ordered it from (including the warehouse from which it was ordered), making sure he got what he was paying forAfter he looked at it he started bringing in parts and ordering partsHe provided us with used carburetors, used intake, new exhaust header, used air cleaner, new fuel tube, new upper radiator hose, new throttle cable and new throttle kick down cablesThe reason for such a long time working on this vehicle was all the modifications and waiting on partsTom would get one part of the engine done and start working another part and need more parts or have to fabricate parts to make them workIf this was a regular engine swap it would have taken daysWhen given used parts we as auto repair don’t know what we are getting……..cracked parts, holes in parts, worn out parts, incorrect parts for vehicleHe wanted to make payments from the beginning, as measure of good faith we allowed him to make paymentsAs of today he has paid $The original estimate was for $We allowed him to take the car on Friday May 19, 2017, knowing he was traveling to Texas for several months and was he was going to call monthly to make paymentsOn Sunday May 21, he called my residence and left separate inappropriate messages He left several messages on our work phone and sent several e-mailsHe contacted the Casper Police DepartmentI also informed him that we would have it professional buffed when he got back to town.Please feel free to contract me or Tom with any further questions.Nova CrawfordThomas Crawford Auto***
