I hired Mr [redacted] as a general contractor after receiving glowing recommendations from neighbors via the [redacted]  app to make the following repairs to my home after at it was burglarized *Remove/replace carpeting on 1st level *Remove/replace carpeting in master bedroom *Remove/replace the sliding glass patio door *Include all applicable line times on claim estimate MrThomas wrote a contract with an initial estimate of $4,I paid $2,of the estimate in the form of a check for him to begin work However, MrThomas cashed my check of $2,and has since disappeared *He no longer answers his business line ( [redacted] ) *He will not respond to voicemail messages *He will not respond to my inquiries via the [redacted] app *He took down his Facebook page after I attempted to contact him *Three weeks later he reestablished his Facebook presence, but will not respond to my requests for a refund as the job was never started
