I paid ThomasYano $[redacted] to file bankruptcy for me to try and protect me from garnishment, his advice. He took my money and never filed my bankruptcy
I went to [redacted] in October 2010 for advice on how to proceed with a car that I had shipped over from the main land to Hawaii, that was never delivered. I made every attempt to try and find my car etc. Filed police reports, contacted my car insurance company, my financial institution to let everyone know I did not have my car. I continued to make payments to the financial institution and insurance company for 6 months after reported car theif . I was getting certified mail from the financial institution whom the car was financed through that they were suing me for the balance owed [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] said he had no idea how to help me with such a case but that he could make this debt go away by filing bankruptcy. The sooner the better before they tried to garnish my wages. He said he would need $[redacted] to proceed. I gave him the money within a few weeks of our first meeting. He said after I gathered the information that he needed it would take 10 - 14 days and it would all be over. I gathered all the info he asked for and returned it to his receptionist at the front desk. I returned several times and call dozens of times over the next few months. He was never available. I got a call from my HR Department at work the last part of April saying the financial institution was garnishing my wages starting immediately. I went crying over to Mr. [redacted] office to my surprise he was there . I told him what was happening and said you told me you would handle this matter(postponing the judgement etc.. and garnishment) as well as filing for the bankruptcy. He said to me I would have never told you I could do that in that time frame. I have been out on back surgery for 4 months. I said did you know you were having back surgery when I hired you? His anwer was yes. I told him I would have never hired you or given you my money had I known you would be out of commission for 4 months. I could have hired any of the other attorneys in town. He made some excuse that he was still missing a few things for my bankruptcy and wasn't able to proceed yet. I through my hands up started crying hysterically and left his office with all the papers I had given them. I told him I planned on reporting him to the Barr.... He said be my guest. He even asked me whom I had been talking with their. I told him and he seemed pleased and said I will be waiting her call... I got absolutely nothing but a garnishment of $[redacted] a month for the next year or so. from him. He took my money. Several people I spoke with about this in town said [redacted] was known for this sort of behavior on not following through with what you pay him for.
