Thomas Edison State University Reviews (%countItem)

I received a bill for $9,967.00. I never enrolled in any classes so there shouldn't be a bill for anything. I applied online and considered attending, but do to extenuating circumstances beyond my control I did not enroll or begin. How is there a bill for almost $10,000 when I never enrolled for classes? My transcripts were sent there, I applied but I never selected any classes let alone drop any. I never accepted any financial aid Because I never took any classes. I have made reasonable attempts to contact the university but I haven't received a response.

Student, *** applied for Financial Aid and selected Thomas Edison State University's Comprehensive payment plan. Student did not follow through with any course registrations. Student contacted TESU Office of Student Accounts and Operations on 3/10/20. The comprehensive charge was removed ($9,967) and student was contacted. Student has a zero balance.

I intended to become a student a this institution and did signed up for classes but withdrew after a week into the semester and received a bill of $3500. I am just trying to let others know that be really careful when signing up for something unexpected, I received poor help resolving this matter and actually still paying for it .

Background e-mail of the current situation sent to the TESU VA Director; have not received any response of except an auto response. Mon, Sep 17, 12:19 PM (1 day ago)

To the VA Director: According to the TESU extension policy the military is not exempt from applying for an extension if 50 percent of the course work is completed. After completion of the fifty percent of the coursework; the extension form is then signed by the mentor and submitted to TESU. When I applied and submitted the signed extension form for the October 2017 online Chemistry II course; Thomas Edison State University did not grant this extension as stated in the policy.

It appears that I have been denied this due process; and, I am asking that you please remedy this issue immediately; as this is a form of discrimination which has affected this military household. *** has returned $450 of the $750 military tuition; and, has asked that I request the remaining $300 of military tuition. As well, the rejection of the extension resulted in TESU making the decision to grant a grade of "D"; when in fact I was in good standing. After many emails I was told that I could have an extension if I completed the midterm; a direct violation of the TESU extension policy (as the midterm would be greater than 50% of the coursework completed); and, therefore, an act of discrimination against this military student.

Further, Thomas Edison State University advertises flexibility and comprehension of the challenges faced by the military; in this case a husband whom deployed to war on numerous occasions. Thomas Edison State University's actions inflicted harm upon this military family; not support.

An attorney has reviewed the case; and, has concluded an injustice has occurred. Please request the redaction of the grade; and, return the three hundred dollar military tuition difference.

Thomas Edison State University's current offer to pay a $2200 residence fee and to take two additional course
