I went to this lady’s house and gave her an estimate, it was on a holiday.  And the estimate I gave her was on a sub-standard pump because the company I got it from gave me the wrong price. When I was able to get the pump out of the tank to see what size that she had, I found out she had a more expensive pump in there.  I contacted her by phone (she was at work - this was an emergency situation because she had no sewage, couldn’t use bathroom and 3 children, single mom).  I told her she needed the more expensive pump which cost $360 more than my original estimate.  She gave me the ok to go ahead and do it.  I went and picked up the pump and replaced it, her system is working great.  She contacted me back that day and told me what time she would be home so I could collect the remainder of my money, but when I got there she informed me that she went to bank and tried to borrow more money and bank would not let her have any more than original estimate and she would not have any more money until tax time and between that time and tax time she was going to check into her consumer rights to find out if she really owed me the extra $360 on the bill – after she had given permission for me to do it.  And I’ve spent twice the amount of time fixing her system and she has cheated me out of $360 on the job.

Review: This plumber came to my house and gave me a written quote to do the work and I agreed and gave him more than half down. He now wants to increase the quote. After he has given me a written quote of what he will do and the price it will cost can he increase it? If so is there a percentage allowed in the state of Virginia he can do that?Thank you,[redacted]Desired Settlement: I believe he gave me a written quote and he should honor that, or what the consumer law allows.Thank you,[redacted]

She agreed to the price change over the phone while she was at work. She still owes me the $336 for the pump.

Very courteous and knowledgeable. Took only about 20 minutes to fix my problem and then was given instructions on how to maintain. Would call them again for any other plumbing problems I have in the future.
