We hired Thomas Logistics LLC to provide movers to load our moving pods from UPack. Jamaal, the owner, forgot about the scheduled move. When I called him the morning of the move he told me he had forgotten, but said he could get some of his movers there. I only became aware later that he sub-contracted the work to non employees, but that is what he did. During the course of the move, the sub-contractors stole high-value items. I contacted Jamaal shortly after the moving pods arrived at our new home and had conclusively verified the items were missing, and he agreed that it was his responsibility to ensure we were made whole for our loss since we hired his company and he chose to sub-contract the job. After several weeks of trying to resolve the issue, he has now stopped returning my text messages and phone calls.
Goodmorning. I responded to his concerns. After more than two weeks he claimed items were stolen. We don't know who unloaded on the other end and does not mean they were taking here in Arizona. I also gave him the movers information who were helping him in Arizona. He has their Drivers License and information.
To respond to the business's claims: First, the time was 2 weeks from the loading. The containers were locked once loaded by the workers hired by Thomas Logistics, and were not unlocked or tampered with until they arrived at the home. I unloaded the contents personally, which took about 4 days. For a timeline, the containers were loaded Thursday, 1/17/19 and locked immediately. They were delivered to the residence on Thursday, 1/24/19. They were left locked an unloaded one at a time under full supervision between 1/24/19 and 1/27/19. I made my complaint only after I had gone through all of the boxes in the home a second time to be sure the items were missing. The only people with access to our property were myself, my wife, and the movers from our condo to the containers. The only reasonable conclusion is that the items were taken by one or all of the movers.
I hold Thomas Logistics, LLC responsible for the loss. He had forgotten about the move, as I found out when I called to confirm the day of that movers were coming. Jamaal stated he had forgotten, but would take care of it. Jamaal sub-contracted the movers, not us. His providing their drivers licenses to us is not sufficient; we expect the business to compensate us for our loss. If action is to be taken against the movers, it is not our responsibility to take action, and up to Thomas Logistics.
I have had Thomas Logistics move my whole household several times since 2009. They always do a great job. No damage, professional and clean. It’s a great value for the price.
