[redacted], I do not claim responsibility also not my truck not my driver.  I believe the responsibility lies on the renters of the Uhaul who should have been in control of their stuff.  Seeing as you think I am responsible and I think you are responsible I offered to split the bill.  The bill that is a far cry from the $900 that you have been claiming it will cost.  It is only $192.60 which comes to $96.30 per party.  I didnt say to your husband I would come rip it out of the ground (great use of an exaggerated lie to prove your point) the mailbox people that did the work said they would for non payment.I have made my offer you can either choose to accept it and end this issue or we can continue to drag it out

To whom it may concern, This is a response to the complaint filed by [redacted] on 3/16/2015.  The move in question was performed on May 7, 2014 almost 1 year ago.  She says she was hesitant about accusing anyone of taking the silverware but quickly points the fingers at us...

saying there is no other explanation when in reality there can be numerous explanations of what happened to the silverware in a years time.   That being said one of the gentlemen on the move is a part owner of the company which puts her in the most reliable of hands.  On top of that we have a contract which she signs before we start the job and the first line reads in bold letters "I have secured all my valuables, medications, money, jewelry..."  she then also signs the contract at the end of the job which has a statement that reads in bold " I hereby verify that all items have been unloaded from the truck(s).....I/We hereby release B&B Movers of any and all liability whatsoever concerning the move..."  It is standard procedure for the driver to ask the customer to walk around the house and come look throughout the truck to make sure everything is off and placed where she wants it before we depart from the house.  I have a copy of the signed contract I can provide as well.  I honestly think she is accusing the wrong people.Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:Whether or not B and B hired the person that they sent to our house that moved the Uhaul and hit the mailbox as a "driver" or "helper" is irrelevant.  It was B and B's employee.  We did not ask him to move the Uhaul.  My husband was inside working and when he came out the two B and B employees were going back and forth about the mailbox.  The one that hit the mailbox was saying he was going to be in trouble and lose his job because he shouldn't have moved it.  The other was saying not to worry and that he had his back.  We should not be responsible for any of the cost of the mailbox repair.  We hired B and B because they were insured.  We will not pay for half.  It was not something that was discussed nor agreed upon.  B and B made those arrangements, as we believe they should, but to be held responsible for their mistake is unacceptable.
Regards,
