Thomas Outdoor Power Equipment Reviews (%countItem)

Absolutely Terrifying Experience! We took our Generac generator for warranty service, and were told we would have to pay a $60 cash fee to have it looked at. They then told us that warranty would not cover any repairs, as we had not externally grounded our portable generator. I call Generac to ask about this, and was told to NEVER externally ground this generator, as it could cause electrocution. It has a grounding wire, and the welded casing acts as it's own ground. They suggested taking it to another shop, and provided a few in the area. We went back to pick it up, explained what Generac told us, and the female owner became verbally abusive. She then followed me outside and became physical with me, preventing me from getting in my vehicle. Thankfully, her adult son came out, stood in front of him mother and physically backed her away from my vehicle so that I could get in and leave. Even as we were leaving, she ran towards our vehicle screaming and flipping us off. I started recording this half way though, as I was concerned of the escalation. My four children in the car were terrified, as was I.

They were not told warranty would not cover the repairs, the $60 is for diagnostics until the manufacturer determines warranty approval or not, we advised them of recent warranty issues we have experienced to give them a heads up about the possibilities. The customer spoke with a customer service rep at Generac, not the warranty department that service centers deal with. We called the warranty department after the customer left and was informed by Robbie in warranty/tech support that absolutely the portable generator must be grounded and it can affect the warranty coverage of repairs depending on what repair is needed. He sent us a copy of the page from the owners manual. Also, I did not follow the customer outside, I was letting our puppy out and looking for my son to see how the test of a push mower was going, the lady reached down to pet our puppy after I had given him a command to come...This interferes with training of a puppy as it confuses the dog. I asked her not to touch my dog after I give a command to him. I took him by the collar and they started yelling at me, I told them to leave our drive way and do not return again. We asked Generac to please contact them and let them know we were correct that if we found an issue with the gen head from not grounding it, they repair would not be warranty....the customer "jumped the gun" though, we had not yet had a chance to check the generator out and determine the actual issue. The customer nor anyone in the family was touched, their vehicle was never touched, I had put my puppy in my truck which was parked beside the customer and I was waiting for them to leave so I could let him back out. I was the one telling Mrs *** to get in her vehicle so they could LEAVE. My son even told them I was not preventing them from leaving, I was backed against my truck, Mrs. even pulled a gun from the truck threatening to shoot me if I didn't go back inside my business. At this point I tried getting my husband on the phone and trying to reach my son to get assistance. I had every right as the business owner to stand in my parking lot to insure they left and did not damage any of our property after they were both verbally abusive inside my shop and Mr. flipped me off as they walked out the door. As to their children, I only saw one as he was getting in the vehicle so they could leave.

The business owners' account of the situation is completely false. The only truth is that her adult son did come out, and he physically backed her away from my vehicle, and pushed her backwards into her vehicle so that I could leave. Even then, she broke away and ran after my vehicle, swearing and flipping us off. Thankfully, I have it all on video. As for pulling a gun on her, that if false. I do open carry, and my firearm was holstered you my briefcase the entire time. In reading the many reviews on ***, as well as *** and Revdex.com, this is not the first, second, or third altercation of this type with this dealer.

DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS***
This business is 100% unethical and immoral!! Brought my Generac pressure was to them for service. I was asked to place a diagnostic fee of 30 dollars. Then told I recover the fee should it be a warranty issue, or I would not receive it back and was receive a quote and a diagnostic result. Unfortunately, I was called and told I have a bill and it was not cover. It was supposedly "fixed" during diagnostics. The cost of the labor was minimal and not an issue. The issue is not the money it is the unethical practice of saying one thing, providing a invoice stating the same, and then not honoring it. When I provided feedback and expressed my concern, however, stated I would pay. I quickly received a phone call back from the husband stating "you've upset my wife and I am going to rip your pressure washer apart and put all the dirt and bad fuel in." Funny thing is the pressure washer came in with no fuel as I already trouble shoot the issue and siphoned the fuel into a jar where the fuel was clean. Well, he followed through and filled my tank with a milky jelly-like substance. Oh and the pressure washer was more than likely stored outside in their junk yard, went in with no rust and came back with a rusty exhaust.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Driving to*** for warranty work is worth it! I have provided the audio from the calls and the fuel samples to generac, and have submitted the establishment to the commerce office to be added to the off-limits for the base. LOOK AT THE OTHER REVIEWS I AM NOT AN ANNOMMLY!!!

This company has no professionalism. I was having a mower delivered per a contract by another company. The owner kept tying to talk over me and when I told him not to interrupt me, with my normal authoritative voice the OWNER said "***" and as he hung up on me I heard him call me an ae. (Now as retired military foul language dose not offend me unprofessional customer service dose.) I called back a woman answers and tells me she's not playing games the owner was too busy to talk to me... after being hung up on multiple times and still not knowing the status on my equipment the cops were called and they tried to have some kind charge of harrassment brought up on me, eventhough I was never given the status. Long story short this company wouldn't know professionalism if it bit them on their tucass. The only reason they have a 1 star is I can't go negative stars! I would not only not do business with this company ever again, I will let anyone know how bad they are including the company/ companies that subcontracted me to them. (With mentioned police report.)
